How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

There was nothing not to like.

We were given a wheelchair friendly room, which meant the basin was super low down, the layout was weird with the TV positioned far right when lying on the bed. I found it pretty strange to be honest.
The location was good, especially since we wanted to be close to the Emirates football stadium. The area is not amazing, but we weren't looking to stay in the more swanky part of town. The staff were friendly, and the breakfast was great.

A bit small, we struggled with our luggage fitting properly.

Upon arrival we were placed in a disabled assist room and while I applaud the fact they have these rooms available (although question the safety for putting them on the top floor -6) it was most unsuitable for us. Upon enquiry we were moved to a room on level 4. It was late and we only had a quick look - and seemed suitable. However the height of amenities were so low as to be most uncomfortable. The following morning we were moved again. We were hoping to enjoy a longer stay without having to move luggage. As we had booked well in advance and was not asked if we required an ability assist room we were very disappointed with the start to our stay.
Breakfast was expensive so we chose to eat elsewhere. It was close to the tube, although walking after dark felt unsettling.

Only thing I don’t like: the digital check ins. I really appreciate it to be helped by a physical person. Upon arrival I don’t like to go through a big screen, for something that can be done by a human being. They’re there anyways, to assist, so they might as well do it for us.
Everything was fine. Great location just two subway stops away from Kingscross. Overal a nice area with a nice park nearby. Plenty of grocery options, should you need it. Other than that very clean rooms and comfortable beds. The hosts were super cordial in a typical British way (thats a compliment).

Room far too hot 24 degrees and even turning down didn’t stay cool hence dreadful night’s sleep and pillows too big not soft

The breakfast was limited, the coffee machines were constantly malfunctioning. Was not possible to open the window in our room and also the view faced a wall, and this was not pleasant. We didn't felt safe in the hotel surroundings.
