Our room was beautiful.

Myself and my husband have stayed in this hotel a few times. Tried different ones but we were never as happy with them. Love love love this hotel. Can't wait to go back 🤗

Parking felt a little bit expensive at £15 per night. Sound insulation isn’t wonderful - we could hear the room about us talking quite clearly.

Room felt very luxurious (Rowntree Sweet with balcony and four poster bed). Staff were friendly and welcoming. Teddy the cat (of course!). Great location, a 10 minute walk from the city centre.

Nothing - it was perfect!

Room was well decorated and clean. Bed and pillows were so comfy. Great shower. Loved the bottles of water they provided. Staff were excellent, friendly and efficient. Great choice of breakfast and freshly cooked. Great location - lovely area and lovely walk into the centre. Parking available.

Hotel was beautiful and the room and facilities were outstanding. We also loved the location, only a short walk into the city centre. Hotel also had private parking which was a bonus.

Great location, the decor and ambience was amazing! We stayed in the after eight suit and loved it so much we stayed another night but chose a different themed room - the matchmaker and was just as good. They have a variety of cocktails and drinks and the staff particularly Milly was so wonderful and helpful. Teddy the cat was the best Nice personal and intimate vibe Would 100% come back again and can’t wait to get it booked in.

The heated towel rail in the bathroom was on constantly which made the bathroom very hot. We had to leave the window open which was no big deal but the weather was mild and we felt the towel rail heat wasn't needed all night

I loved the small touches like the bath robe and slippers in the room. The toiletries smelt amazing! The TV in the room had netflix and youtube. Great choice of drinks at the bar and breakfast was delicious

Snug car park where staff move your car to let out blocked in cars.

Excellent individual decor and furniture. Loved the whirlpool bath. Great TV allowing you to log into your streaming services. Great choice and quality at breakfast. Great location for the more traditional north end pubs in the city centre. Nice £10 discount at the Fat Badger.

Very minor - the kettle doesn’t fit under the tap to fill it up!

The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We were upgraded which was a lovely surprise. The rooms and facilities are very good value for money. The bar is comfortable and relaxing for a cocktail or coffee. Brisk 10 minute walk to the city centre which was perfect.

Being picky, the bacon at breakfast was cooked too long under a low heat, the bacon was dry and the fat under cooked.

We would have liked a bath, but life isn't always perfect. Could also have had nice sunny weather, but in February that would be asking a bit much.

The vibe of the hotel is exceptional - gives a real old world feel with contemporary comfort. We love it. Staff are good fun, and friendly while being professional and efficient.

Bedroom beautifully decorated, robes and slippers provided, bathroom huge and shower perfect. Good quality toiletries, and kitkats on the tea tray were a lovely touch. Four poster king size had one of the comfiest mattresses I’ve ever stayed on in a hotel. Parking was available at the hotel, and getting parked on street was easy. Breakfast was lovely, the sausage was a highlight. Location is walkable to the city centre, several local pubs and the river path if you’re wanting to just enjoy a nature walk We’ll definitely be back to see Teddy, the hotel’s resident cat!

Beautiful hotel, decor was fun and quirky but whilst being very tasteful and in-keeping with the style of the building. The staff were brilliant, room was stylish, comfy, clean and had all the amenities we needed. Breakfast was good. The lounge / bar was perfect for gathering our small group for a cup of tea after traipsing around town or for a post-dinner drink. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again if visiting York.
