Rooms needed painting,stains on the enamel bath,and steam room not working for months,,according to.a regular spa user ,the bathroom only had one light working out of two ceiling lights

Booked a triple room (photos show double and single bed) but got a double and a sofa bed- which was exceptionally uncomfortable to the point we were not able to sleep on it and ended up sharing the other bed. Pool/spa changing facilities were filthy- very grimy and slippery. Breakfast was very poor indeed. Had to chase a waitress for hot drinks, which arrived after we had eaten. Minimal choice of cereal, no pastries, no hash browns. Worst hotel breakfast I have seen. Hospitality tray in the room was also very poor- 4 teabags, 2 coffee, 6 brown sugar (no white) and 4 milk for the whole stay. The room was not serviced during our stay so the tray was not replenished (so I couldn't have tea as there was no white sugar) and towels were not replaced. Very mixed messages about the road closure- hotel informed us it was 8.30-12noon while signs said 7.30-1pm so we had to leave very early on the Sunday to avoid possibly being stuck at the property.

The staff were wonderful- very friendly and helpful, could not have been better. Room was huge and acceptably clean- had not been properly hoovered, bad staining and tears on the sofa, lots of cigarette butts outside the window.

Some areas of hotel and grounds need refurbishing and attention. No fresh fruit or yoghurt offered at breakfast, hot food from buffet was just warm and plates stone cold.

Excellent warm swimming pool. Comfortable beds. Very clean room and bathroom which had bath and separate shower. Good quality white bed linen and towels. Pretty garden. For a 3 star hotel range of facilities exceed expectations.

The bed was probably the most uncomfortable hotel bed I have ever slept on, the quilt was too small for the bed and too.thin so we were cold all night. At breakfast we were given a teapot that tbh should have been thrown out, it didn't have a handle on the lid just a hole where the handle should have been

The hotel is a budget hotel and was value for money. The staff were friendly and professional.

Overcooked breakfast food and dirty tea and coffee pots at breakfast. Hole in carpet in the room and used tissue in the floor.

There was a strong smell throughout the hotel. When we entered our room, whatever the cleaners use as air freshener, it was extremely strong and overpowering. I had to open all the windows to air the room out. The mattress was very very firm and I woke up in pain. The entire hotel is in dire need of a refurb.

The staff were very friendly and had a sense of humour. Even though the bar was closed in the morning, the staff still were more than happy to serve us (non alcoholic drinks). The shower was great and straight forward to use. There was a hair dryer, iron, dressing table, flat screen TV, wardrobe and bedside tables in the room. The curtains are very dated but they're nice and heavy and kept a lot of light out of the room.

Had to ask for a chair so I could sit at the desk in the room and use my laptop. The starter (Breaded Mushrooms) were not cooked properly and still had ice in the middle, they were replaced.

The hallway to our room smelt like damp. It was very strong. The shower had no power in the room and the toilet took forever to refill to flush. The showers at the pool were better than the one in our room. The breakfast was ok but could have had a bit more variety.

I liked the location, and the swimming pool was good and the facilities at the pool were also very good.
