Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe room and bathroom are tiny. The worst thing was the smell, from the reception and the dirt. Unfortunately I didn't take photos because I didn't want to remember that part of my vacation, but there was a lot of dirt under the mattresses and under the beds. There were hairs on the beds, the toilet was dirty and there were hairs in the sink drain. In short, we won't be back as it is very disgusting.
My family and I only liked the service from 1 employee and the location.

GermanyI did not like the shower. The drain in my shower (room 9) was clogged, which caused the water to collect under my feet. I also did not like that the Netflix on my TV did not work, I tried to fix it several times and asked the staff, but in the end, it never worked. I also did not like customer service.
The property was nearby to Hyde Park, which I enjoyed visiting. I also liked that the property was close to the underground train stations.

United KingdomSeem to remember the shower/toilet had one of those horrible glass doors which never close properly. Fine otherwise.
Great location, just around the corner from Queensway. 5 mins to Kensington Gardens on foot, 20 to Marylebone and central London, 10 to Notting Hill or Paddington station. Lovely building, nice staff, clean and inviting room. Accommodating with late check-out.

GermanyBathroom - Dont expect to be able to raise your arms in there. - Toilet is squeezed behind sink, so if you are not tiny asian then the space is too small for you to wipe yourself. You have to walk outside bathroom and wipe there. That is huge discomfort and honestly the only reason why I judge it so harshly. - Window didnt fit on itself, so the room temperature is pretty much outside temperature. I did not find any AC, so I assume when it was too hot at night it was centrally controlled. - No wardrobe - only hangers that are so close to wall they lean on it.
large bed that lack support on the side though, so I was falling a bit at the edge. Enough shelf space in bedroom, everything enough OK Honestly the place was clean and smell well. Both toilet and bedroom are not as bad as written in reviews Cat with receptionist :) Location Great wifi

United KingdomFor 4 people stopping 4 nights, the room was too small. 2 double beds with narrow gap in the middle to walk. Only place to put clothes etc were some very dusty shelves (had to give them a good wipe first). No where to put suitcases. Bathroom was very small (sit sideways to use the toilet). Small window which was closed with a chain, but had to balance on the windowsill rim (as the rest had been boarded off), to reopen the window. Our room was number 3, which was right next to the stairs, and we could hear every step taken. Luckily we are all quite heavy sleepers. There was some commotion on the first night outside the door, but I don't blame the hotel for that. Just other guests that assume they are the only ones stopping there (you know the type). Was worried about the damage deposit as there were quite a few things already broken in the room on arrival (the bin, the hairdryer in the bathroom, glass shelf underneath bathroom mirror was missing). All was ok though. The room would be good for 2 people who want a double bed each, simply due to the lack of floor space. Had to take it in turns to get dressed, or be stood up.
Location was fantastic. Very easy to find, Bayswater station is the closest with plenty of takeaways, boots, Tesco, Sainsbury's (and a m&s coming soon) within a few minutes walk. Staff were very friendly, and check in was very easy. Responses to messages were quick. Beds comfortable, shower was great (good temperature and power).

NetherlandsIt smelled so bad in the room and in the corridor, and the room was too small for two person.
The location is good, the treatment was good and they solved our problem: we couldn't pay the insurance by cash but he accepted it. and we wanted to check out early (before 9 am) so he came early in the morning to give us our money back:)

United KingdomThe room is claustrophobic to say the least. Two people need a lot of planning to be able to get ready to go out and you need to continuously tidy up your stuff which is tiring. The coat hangars are useless as the coats touch the bed when you sleep. The bathroom has no drain and we completely fought against a potential flood, not being able to enjoy our shower, as the shower had no door... We generally felt the room is extremely dusty (continuous upgrade work in the hotel might be to blame) and that the sheets, towels and bathroom could have been way cleaner. Last but not least, they gave us a room in the attic which had a staircase resembling that of a ship. Girls, especially wearing heels, forget this staircase or you risk falling backwards.
The hotel is at an amazing location and as a local myself in my previous life, I know what it means to be located a 10 second walk from Queensway. I really liked the front porch as well and I bet it will be a bliss on a sunny day. Reception area is basic but functional and the staff is very friendly (my friend with the crocs, I do not know your name!) The room was well heated with the electric heaters provided. The toiletries and coffee provided were good quality, branded products.
