How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The noise of the macerator although I realise that it is needed. Not a real problem just worried it might have disturbed other guests.
We had a very spacious room with a huge very comfortable bed. Very clean. Breakfast was very good. Lots of choice.

Water pressure in shower was adequate rather than great but plenty of hot water so no real complaint.
Excellent location especially if walking or using public transport. Bus stop outside door and central location for easy access to all major towns in Cornwall. Reasonably sized room with adequate storage and hanging space for clothes. Usual amenities such as TV, heated towel rail, fan and kettle. Only one comfortable chair but folding table which came in useful. Good size walk in shower plus plenty of flat surface and space for toiletries. Breakfast was excellent with cereal, toast and 'full English ' if you wanted it. Kim helped us by holding our luggage whilst out walking. We would have liked to stay longer.

There was nothing to dislike about this stay.
The location was excellent and we would certainly stay there again. Breakfast was excellent and one of the best we have had at a B&B. The room was large, bed extremely comfortable and we slept exceptionally well. World really recommend this B&B to anyone who wishes to stay in or near Helston. Kim and her assistant were extremely attentive and helpful.

Access was easy once we realised we had to contact the pub next door to get our key. No 52 is a great location in the town centre with easy access to drop off and parking in the street available overnight. Our room was newly re furbished, well decorated and comfortable, and our inclusive breakfast was freshly cooked to order. Kim offers excellent value. Our only problem was finding somewhere nice to eat in the evening, as many of the pub in Helston don't serve food.

Location was perfect, the rooms had comfy beds, ample storage, good hospitality tray with tea coffee milk and sugar, hairdryer, en-suite fully equipped with lovely towels and toiletries. The breakfast was very good offering cereals, fruit, yoghurts, great choice for cooked breakfast, toast with marmalade, honey, jam and an ample supply of tea and coffee.

I could hear some people next door snoring however this was only when the bathroom door was open and obviously not something the property can control.
Had a really comfortable stay - the room was nice and warm (which was amazing since it was so rainy outside) and loved that we could nip 3 steps next door to a proper pub! The cooked breakfast we had the next morning was 10/10 - there was also cereal, yoghurt, fruit and granola. Staff were very friendly. It was recommended to stay here by a friend and we can see why!

Fantastic location great building and friendly people breakfast couldn’t be better and included in the price. Our room had a great place to sit watching the world go by when sitting having tea or a glass of wine. Very clean room and bathroom.
