How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The sofa-bed for children was tottally unconfortable. There wasn't a desk in the room and more space in a 4 people room would be appreciated.

Nothing to add here
It was an excellent stay. Extremely cordial staff. Superb breakfast. I would like to suggest a couple of things that could be better. These aren’t improvements. However, this would definitely attract more brownie points. 1. A set of disposable toothbrushes 2. Water bottles in Executive Lounges without having to call and request 3. Instruction to login to Wi-Fi for those who are visiting for the first time Provided all of this, I was very impressed with the entire stay. There was nothing to complain about.

price was quite high, but comparing to other similar hotels around central city area Novotel was really value for money. Don’t understand why people are so negative about this hotel

Beds were on the harder side for our liking. A little on the expensive side but you pay for location!

the carpet had clearly not been hoovered, the skirting boards were thick with dust and despite having a 12pm checkout the cleaner knocked on the door at 11:20am and asked if we were leaving. we have an autistic son and we have to manage our time very carefully. given the huge amount we had paid for our two night stay this was very poor customer service.
great location, bed was very comfortable and bathroom was spotless.

Service isn't the best. No toilet rolls refill, no snacks refill, no extra tissues. We were travelling with an infant and found it a bit overwhelming having to call reception all the time to get something.
Great location walkable to everything along the Thames!

Bar Food options were very limited compared to our last stay.
Location for Central London. Taxi rides are shorter so tend to be more affordable View over Lambeth Palace on Big Ben Which we like when we stay at this Hotel

The breakfast was absolutely lovely. The location was fab as I was there for the marathon it was easy access to the bus station and underground.

towel for our son was missing as they had to prepare the room in a hurry. but we did not want to ask for another one since it was already late.
spacious room great shower clean good location the staff informed us on arrival about the London marathon so we could include this in our travel plan for the next day to avoid being late for the train.

In the bathroom we have shampoos, conditioners snd shower gel for 2 persons only while we were 3. For 5 nights such items were added only once more which was again only for 2. Overall was absolutely not enough.

We had an email asking us to upgrade which we did and when we arrived, we were told we couldn't.... why offer it then?? Rooms cleaned although glasses and cups from night before were left there. Duvet on sofa bed was stained. Its a good ten minutes walk from nearest tube station.
We stayed here because of parking.
