Just the sofa bed was tricky to assemble and fold back up. A clothes horse/rack would also have been useful for all our washing.

Warm & cosy, clean and tidy with lovely ambiance. It was between -2 to 3 degrees when we visited and we were toasty warm in the cottage. Debbie left clear instructions and was helpful with questions when required. Was perfect for me and my 2 boys to stop in the one place for 4 days. The washing machine and huge heated towel rail in the bathroom were a godsend. Also nice additional touches like real milk, crumpets and butter were left for us in the fully equipped kitchen.

The sofa bed was the only disappointment, very tired in appearance and not very comfortable.

The cottage was brilliant and overall very comfortable for our family of 4 (2 adults and two girls aged 14 and 10). It was immaculate on arrival and I would recommend it to people who are visiting in the area.

The sofa bed was quite uncomfortable and not in keeping with the rest of the property

Really lovely little cottage in a great location. The house was very pretty, clean and well kitted out with some extra touches like milk/juice in the fridge and some crumpets for breakfast. The host made sure we had all the information we needed in advance and was very accommodating of our late arrival.

Suggestions: Would have like an iron and ironing board, instructions for heating and clearer instructions for the bins regarding what to put in which/recycling...Otherwise nothing we didn't like!

There wasn’t anything we disliked but a cheese grater and a sharper knife in the kitchen would be really handy!!

Such a cosy cottage, beautifully decorated and so peaceful. Tucked away in a pretty village - we slept so well! Debbie was very welcoming upon arrival and the tea, coffee, milk, biscuits and juice were a nice touch. Would definitely recommend this cottage to family and friends. It’s spotlessly clean and we felt comfortable from day 1. Brilliant value and a good base for exploring. Being a bungalow, it was perfect for myself, my 3 year old and my grandma. The garden is a lovely addition too. North Thoresby is very quiet and we enjoyed strolling to the play park. The village shop is well stocked so you can avoid a supermarket trip if you plan to eat out and cook simply as we did. We enjoyed a takeaway from Mr Lee’s on our last night.

Gorgeous place to stay perfectly situated between the Wolds and the cost. The village is stunning with 2 great pubs that do family friendly food and plenty more nearby. There is a park in the village and a general store as well. We used it as a base to visit places close by like Donna Nook and Cleethorpes. Very stylish lounge with double sofa bed, then single bed in a separated room, also a double bedroom separate and a gorgeous garden with fields at the rear!

Despicable scammers who messed with the heating to save a few pounds
    • Business trip

We got to the place and it was cold, zero heating and no lights were turned on. The owners had messed with the thermostat which said vastly different temperature than the actual temperature. The thermostat was slow to detect changes in temperature and it was so cold my partner had to sleep in the car on our first night. The kitchen pinboard has brochures of pizza delivery and chinese takeaways and the owner's receipt for 500 litres of heating oil, proudly showing the cost which we had already covered for a year with our four days stay. There was no freezer, lining of the ovens are all hanging off and when your turned on the over it smelled of burnt plastic. The electric hobs were all adjusted and broken so we could not use them to cook as they cannot reach boiling temperatures. We took seven hours to boil some salad potatoes and the potatoes were still hard and uncooked. Crazy neighbours next door had to cut grass for hours and the other have a barbeque with pretend fake laughter for hours. There was no broom provided so we could not sweep up the fireplace after using it as an emergency since the heating was tuned to not work with the thermostat which the owners had meddled with. The owner had the nerve to report us to booking.com and accused us of leaving the house in a state when we were unable to cook nor sleep peacefully in a bedroom with freezing cold walls!

    Leaving.
