How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The breakfast, but for what we paid for the room, still good value.
Good location for visiting RHS Bridgewater. Nice large room with Tea making and water provided daily. Also, not far from Salford Quays which is worth a visit.

Carpet in hall could do with a clean that is all
Beds mega comfy..staff really friendly..lovely bar and restaurant next door. Great location to get into town or into motorway . Big rooms. Plenty of tea and coffee available and kettle in room. Breakfast comes in a bag to take away but freshly made up

Although the room was clean, it could do with re-painting.
Staff were very helpful, and there was ample parking. They provide a takeaway breakfast with a hot roll, which was really nice. The within the hotel building is a very nice restaurant and bar. Room was clean.

Rooms are very dated and our room had watermarks all over the walls, needs updating, the lighting is also bad.
Friendly staff, good location, Albert's bar and restaurant is attached to the hotel which serve good food and drink, good shower.

Bed mattress was a bit lumpy (springs could be felt) but could be resolved with a mattress topper and it would have been nice to have a small fridge in the room to keep drinks cool and packed lunches fresh.
Friendly and efficient staff. Liked that free tea/coffee was available in reception. Being attached to the restaurant Albert's was also handy, though it was a shame the cooked breakfast was not available all the time but great for an evening meal. Good location with great transport links particularly into Manchester city centre. The room was a great size and the shower was really good.

Breakfast was OK but options rather limited. The menu for the restaurant next door was rather bland and uninteresting.
Easy access from motorway and to RHS Bridgewater. Room very quite despite proximity to a busy dual carriageway.

1- Would prefer a slightly more "expansive" breakfast with Fresh Coffee rather than the "Nescafé" sachets, these days most public spaces have these new modern machines with Coffee beans offering not just dffrnt sorts of Coffee but also drinking Chocolate & options of dffrnt teas. 2 - Unfortunately for us, we hadn't realised that major roadworks were taking place on the A580 so we ended up running around in circles in residential estates until my Partner rang the Hotel to manœuvre us to the hotel rear entrance.

The hotel looks like it needs a lick of paint and a bit of TLC. Possibly even new mattresses? :) I know the hotel couldn't help it, but the roadworks on the East Lancs at 3am were a lot to deal with!
The 'free' breakfast was a welcome gift when I set off in the mornings as I was travelling for work. The room was spacious and airy. The staff were pleasant in their greetings and were also helpful.

Better than some better known hotels at twice the price. This hotel is fabulous value for money without loosing all the expected necessities at a good standard. The staff friendly , nice clean towels and bedding. Great parking and grab bag breakfast good 😊

Bedding was not quite up to standard, white bedding a bit off colour, I was cold but no extra blanket was available in the room; Ambiance in the rooms can improve,
