How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Above, the roads closed and not informed by the hotel. Also one of the lifts didnt work so had to walk 10 floors down on a number of occasions due to lifts.
Nice hotel, just wish they would have told us that all the roads in and around Bristol were closed due to the marathon so we had to park elsewhere and walk 10 mins to the hotel.

Only one elevator working. Other one was 'out of service'. How long does it take to repair an elevator??

I booked for 18 people, all male and all friends. I booked twin rooms - twice, both on initial booking 2 months ago and also when i checked the guests in - out of 9 rooms, we had NIL with twin beds which is extremely poor

My first room 802
Original room smelled of cigarettes so hotel upgraded me to beautiful room on top floor. I would not have enjoyed my stay in the first room which felt dirty, was noisy and dull.

I have to say the breakfast was vastly overpriced, the bacon was so tough you couldve used it to resole your boots. I appreciate they have a large amount of guests to cater for but it was way too expensive for the quality. Sorry but next time we will opt out and go to a greasy spoon instead.
The hotel was lovely, quite a large room with a well presented bathroom. The location was perfect as it was just a short walk for the venue we were attending. The staff were very helpful, especially as my son is a wheelchair user.

Quicker check-in would have been good.
It’s a great hotel in a great location. We were updated when we arrived and the room was great. We were out when they experienced a power cut, however the staff handled it well.

Lift was broken only one lift worked and we're on the 12th floor. This is too much to be constantly going up and down this amount of stairs with suitcases. Delaying us going out waiting extra long to use lift. Breakfast was good and nice view.

I had a standard room, and whilst it was clean (as in, the cleaners had done a good job) the room furnishings, curtains and carpet were a bit tatty and stained.
Great location, super polite and helpful staff, comfy bed.

Tiredness of room , needs a refurb . Only one lift working which at busy times we gave up with and used the stairs .
Location was the best part , general areas of hotel are really nice but rooms looked tired and dated .breakfast was ok but I ve had better in a premier inn . I ve stayed in a raddison years ok and remembered it being more up market this was more in line with budget but not budget price .

I didn’t not like anything about the room apart from there’s no plugs next to the beds they were on the other side of the room

It’s a bit soulless and impersonal. The bar is brightly lit and understaffed - dirty, empty glasses left on tables. On a busy Saturday night in the centre of the city the bar should offer a cosy refuge - an alternative to a crowded pub. It didn’t do that.
It’s right opposite the Hippodrome so very convenient for everything. The staff are very helpful. Breakfast was very good. We were upgraded to the 15th floor with a huge room and amazing views. Not so great though when you get to the top to find your keycard doesn’t work!

Hairdryer was broken. Shower wasn't particularly good.

For some reason, the cleaner refused to clean both our coffee cups and make up the bed properly. I also had to ask for water every day. This had no impact on our stay (we sorted everything ourselves) but found it very strange.
Great location. Reception staff were very customer focused!
