Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyThe room where I slept was underground, so it was a bit humid, and also the wall next to my bed was breaking apart and a bit moldy/humid. Morover my bed was kinda "tilted" so it wasn't too comfortable. But for the price I paid, it was an ok stay👌
The bathroom was very nice and the man at the reception was kind

United KingdomUnfortunately, the hostel itself is somewhat lacking. My second stay was definitely worse. The first, after a gig, coming back late and simply having a bed for the night was fine. The second time, having an early flight and wanting an early night, the noise levels were bad and made for an uncomfortable and largely sleepless night. The room and bunk I had the first time were also much better and more comfortable than the second. The building is definitely in need of some TLC, and I’ve found the facilities both times to be lacking, with toilets and showers often subpar or not working with full functionality. There are quite a lot of grubby corners to the hostel and overall it is definitely wants a renovation or makeover from the ground up. Still, if you’re only looking for a bed for a night it serves its function and the shop is useful, even if the overall experience is lacking in several areas.
I’ve stayed here twice now, once for a concert and the second time before a flight. The biggest benefit of this hostel is its location—right in the heart of Piccadilly and a stone’s throw from the station, this hostel is ideal for a short stopover in the city as you are close to the shopping districts and the stations if you are heading further afield. The hostel also functions as a convenience store, which is really handy for a great selection of drinks, snacks, or other bits you might need, without having to leave the hostel. Staff are decent and check-in is relatively hassle free.

United KingdomThe receptionist was refusing to refund a woman her money after selling her a bed in a dorm that had no side panel and was on the top bunk so if she'd fallen out of it whilst asleep she could've died. He was so unhelpful to her and should never had sold her that bed in the first place. Of she'd injured herself she could've sued the hostel for millions. The bed should've been repaired sooner or not have been on sale for reservation There was no shower gel to buy The shop was very basic and no-one in my woman dorm were given keys for the locker The sink in the dorm was blocked the toilet didn't flush properly The bed was so high up going up that ladder for someone with mobility issues was nigh on dangerous
I met a nice French girl who enabled me to speak French The bed was big and didn't have to put bedding on The shower was warm There was a radiator to dry my clothes on I enjoyed the camaraderie of other women in the dorm I bought a towel and snacks from the shop downstairs

United Kingdom1) They did not have a toilet seat in the bathroom in one of their expensive rooms. I paid more for better service but did not get it. 2) They didn't have keys for the lockers when i asked for it. The lockers are in the room but it is looked. So you can't leave your stuff somewhere safe. 3) If you left your backpack with them they ask for 3 pounds. 4) They charge you for renting a towel and I wasn't sure if the towels were clean after renting them.

United KingdomThe beds were too short for me (6ft) and I had to somewhat crouch in bed. There was no lamp by my bed so any light had to come from the main room light which had to be turned on frequently as people came and went.
One of the employees at the desk was very friendly and helpful. They have safe secured storage for excess baggage which I used while staying there at no cost. The lounge had netflix
