How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Shower setup was strange and flooded the whole bathroom, would've preferred a regular walk in shower cubicle with a door. Room also didn't have a bottle opener which was abit disappointing, would've thought it'd be standard issue. The sofa bed was stained and tatty. Let the room down abit.
Good car park, nice location, not too busy, decent sized room with comfy and clean sheets. Handy having an ironing board and iron in the room. Cheap price for a Saturday Night too. Also allowed us to check in early for no extra cost which was a big bonus.

Paying for the parking, were there 5 nights so cost us £50 for the full trip! The reason was for the upkeep of the car park which my boyfriend and I didn’t see what the big deal was as the car park was only a coded barrier and just a normal car park so nothing fancy! One of the housekeepers weren’t too friendly when she knocked the door and asked if we wanted the room done and I said yes if u wouldn’t mind and she just huffed as if it was a problem and then my boyfriend just said his trainer box was for the bin and she just rushed him out the way!
Hotel was lovely, ideal location, had a few things around us within walking distance

£10 for parking is not a bad price but I would expect this included in the stay not an additional extra. Also the hotel seems to be taking in homeless people to assist the police which I didn't except

Fee £10 per day for parking at the hotel. It should be free for those staying over.
The location, kind and efficient staff, the decoration of the reception areas, and the bar. Got a free room upgrade 😁!

Lack of sockets near bed - 1 only. Lighting poor. Open wet room/WC water ran all over floor and did not stay in shower area. No headboard, just 2 mattresses on a base which kept moving away from the wall.

Paying for car park when it is part of hotel site. Put in a disabled room ??? Why , not asked for . Water pressure in room non existent . Not worth complaining for one night stay , BUT!!

Staff were just lovely - helpful, friendly and accommodating. The huge bed was fantastically comfortable and the room was spacious with a lovely bathroom. Good room service too !

Location very good especially as we're we're visiting Gateshead international stadium, the reception staff were brilliant let us have early check in which we were happy with considering we arrived early than expected.

Walls are a little thin so we could hear occupants in neighbouring rooms. A bottle of water in room would have been appreciated.
Location next to Quayside was great and only a short walk into the centre of Newcastle with its restaurants and bars. King bed was very comfy.

The sofa in the room was really dirty and stained. I think it was a sofa bed but i wouldn’t sleep on that, very unhygienic.
It is close to the town centre, about a 15-20 minute walk. The bed was really comfortable. Had a kettle in the room with tea and coffee. The shower was good! Liked how it had a iron and ironing board too!
