Our room was a little dated and perhaps needed a refurbishment.Bathroom was tiny. We only stayed for one night so it didn’t really bother us.

Lovely cosy hotel.Plenty of lovely seating to relax in.Staff very obliging and friendly.We had a delicious evening meal in the bar area with our dog, which was no problem at all.Hotel is in a good location with plenty of walks from outside the door.

Staff need further training in terms of service. Lots of instances where orders were forgotten although the staff were very polite and rectified immediately.

Room was small but well appointed. Good menu and the breakfast was great. Perfect location for my stay and close to all the areas I wished to visit. Staff were friendly and polite.

My single room would have benefited by the addition of a small table or shelf next to the washbasin, for putting items on.

Traditional Lakeland Victorian house. The staff were exceedingly friendly as were many of the guests. In a beautiful setting with walks in the nearby woods. An easy journey from Keswick.

Hotel was beautiful, very friendly & welcoming staff, bedrooms and hotel immaculate throughout. Lovely breakfast each morning, we also stayed in for dinner one night which we all enjoyed, zero complaints from our party of 3. Thank you for making our stay such a pleasant one, we look forward to returning.

All was perfect

The downside to our room was the smell of dog. I love dogs but don't really want to sleep in a room where dogs have been. In my opinion, it would be better to have rooms allocated to specific rooms for people to bring their dogs to. The only other issue I had was my wife is coeliac and cannot eat gluten. She had to return dishes a few times although it was discussed at each meal. Breakfast however was not a problem and really delicious.

A female member of staff was a pocket rocket! She was excellent when she wasn't on reception, serving dinner/breakfast she would be sweeping outside. She was on the go all the time, a brilliant, cheerful chatty member of the team. I just wish I'd got her name. I loved my room for the views and the decor.
