Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesDid not get a chance to eat at the hotel restaurant. Menu looked great and had a good selection of top notch offerings. The hotel had a bar, also not taken advantage of during this trip. There are plenty of choices all over Inverness.
Redcliffe Hotel is at an excellent location at the East side of Inverness. Short walk to the center of town and a quick down-hill walk to the river Ness (and the parks). Plenty of parking in the hotel lot. Wood fired pizza on the covered patio was excellent. It was drizzling and the heaters were adequate to keep the cold at bay. The room was in a separate building a few steps across the road from the main hotel. It was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Bottles of water were provided. There was plenty of complimentary tea and coffee. Bathroom facilities were spacious and plenty of hot water when needed. Very close to the Inverness Castle and views of the castle from the room. Excellent location.

United KingdomI was in a downstairs single room, which didn't have a window, so it just felt a little enclosed and always dark without daylight. It wasn't a huge issue for me as it was only really used for sleeping, but some may not like the lack of window or daylight.
The friendly staff and cleanliness of my room and bathroom. The hotel is very handy for the centre of town, only a 10 minute walk. The towels were pretty large by hotel standards.

United KingdomThe mattress on the bed in my room was overdue replacement and did not provide a comfortable night's sleep, which was obviously disappointing as this is the key component of a bedroom.
Good location in quiet area near city centre. On-site free parking. Pleasant staff. Good breakfast. Generous room tray (tea, coffee, hot chocolate, milk, biscuits, bottled water). Everywhere was clean. Generally a very good stay (apart from the bed!).

United KingdomMy first impression was disappointing, the staff heard me ring the bell at reception but continued to use foul language to whoever they were talking to while on way to assist me. Very unprofessional. Pillows on beds need replacing, flat and hard.
It’s situated close to town. Was clean, just needs upgrading. Carpets worn and look dirty.

United KingdomThe only complaint i had was that the wardrobe wobbled when you walked around the room, I'm not sure if it was fixed to the wall or not, but it was a bit unnerving.

GreeceThe hotel is well located, 8 min walking from the bridge street and the river. Book for your breakfast at the hotel, it's really worth it, it was delicious and the plate well served, with attention to detail. You can also help yourself with coffee, tea, yoghurt, fruit, cereal/porridge and a selection of savoury/sweet local products. My single room was not spacious, but was perfectly clean and the water as hot as needed for a bath after a long trip! Coffee and cookies are offered in the room. It gave me the impression of a well run hotel, all timely and correct. The service from the hotel staff was very attentive and accommodating. Luckily I stayed on holiday and enjoyed free access to the parking which is otherwise reserved for guests 6pm-8am and weekends only. Recommended!

United KingdomBiscuits: we only got one small packet of 3 digestives - for two of us - for two days, they weren't replenished when the room was made up on the second morning! The room only had one bath towel and one hand towel for two of us and no footmat for when you come out of the shower. When I asked for extra towels, I was only given one extra bath towel and was told that I couldn't have a 2nd hand towel, and still no footmat.
We liked the location with it being a couple of minutes walk into Inverness. The parking was great although if the hotel was fully booked I doubt there would be sufficient space available, but there is council parking nearby.
