How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Nothing to complain about.
The whole stay was fab. Loved the fact that there was a separate entrance and you didn’t have to walk through the restaurant. Details of check in given in advance so it was easy. Clear instructions for parking also really useful. Loved the fact that despite not offering breakfast, they gave an offer of pastries and small boxes of cereal with fresh milk. Just a small touch but really lovely. The rooms was fantastic value, clean, cosy, full of little details such as the fan (our room was incredibly warm due to outside weather so the fan was a welcome touch). We actually had food in the downstairs restaurant and it was stunning! Really reasonable in price and quality was fantastic. Already planning to return to Congleton and will be looking here to stay. All staff we came into could tact with were lovely and couldn’t do enough for us.

The only negative was that the kitchen extractors came out just by the room windows, which had been left open before we arrived, so the room smelled of barbecue. Quite a nice smell, but not that romantic!
Beautiful room. Very clean. Really lovely. Nice food in the pub below.

Really nice place to stay for a night, staff super friendly. We had drinks in the evening and the staff were brilliant. Room spacious and very clean, well appointed and spot on location wise, right in the middle of town near to pubs and restaurants.

Very clean apart from the shower tray, which would not drain because it was blocked up with lots of hair, etc, and we had to remove and clean the filter, which was not pleasant at all

The lighting in room 4 was very dim and warm and being at the top with minimal natural light coming in I felt that was the only thing I'd change as it was quite dark even with the lights on.
Had a fabulous stay here with my bridal party the night before my wedding. Rooms were spacious, beds very comfy clean and self check in was straightforward with a detailed text sent on the day with all relevant instructions. Food at Reuben's underneath was very tasty and would definitely recommend this too.

Great location, with really handy car parking behind the property, with reasonable charges and free after 3pm. The room was lovely, stylishly furnished with an industrial vibe, lots of tea and coffee available , and a pleasant surprise was the grab and go breakfast or cereal option. Communication with the host was timely and gave all the necessary information.

A very cool place to stay in a great spot on the highstreet. A very nice bar, awesome staff and stylish comfy rooms. The communication after booking is second to none and would recommend to anyone.

Nothing - it's a really lovely place!
Beautiful, quiet room. Plenty of space and very clean and well presented. Nina, the proprietor, provides fresh milk in a fridge and proper, cafetiere coffee, plus cereals, pastries and snacks for free. The room is around the back of a lovely smokehouse restaurant that sells great food and locally brewed beer. It is perfectly situated for easy access to all of the shops, bars and restaurants in town. All round a very friendly place, we had a great stay.
