The staff could have been way more available and attentive behind the desk when needed. Due to having a foreign phone I had trouble connecting with the phone nr they displayed on the desk. Therefore receiving the help I needed took way longer than it should. Also since it is so central and the hostel is a part of a venue, it can be very loud at night (though it did not bother me that much.) The female bathroom could have been cleaner.

The staff were quite helpful when I first arrived, and the location is ideal if you enjoy being very central and near where all the nightlife is. The all-female dormitory was quite spacious consisting of very comfortable beds. I generally loved that it was connected to a venue that had a bowling alley and a pizza restaurant with live music, so it was easy to make new local friends.

Although I saw from the previous reviews about the loud noise I couldn't believe how loud it actually was, the karaoke singers felt like they were in rhe room with us and the club music rattled the walls. I brought decent earplugs, which I used on the 2nd night after getting almost no sleep on the first night (weekends). Staying in a hostel, you expect some noise and disruption, but this was extreme. I did not use the showers as I found the individual cubicles very dirty (lots of hair etc) and in the communal one there was a man sitting in the middle of room on his phone so I did not feel comfortable showering there.

The staff were friendly and helpful. I stayed in a female only dorm (6 beds), and the bed linen, towels, and room were very clean. The location is great. The lounge had a great setup with sofas and desks to plug in devices, etc.

They don't pay attention to hygiene, they clean once or twice in a week. Surprisingly I saw rodent (rat) yesterday morning. Also the button bed is not high enough for an average adult to seat on.

I like the high roof considerating the people on the bunk top. The Kitchen is specious and well equipped. The toilets, and bathroom rooms are well built in sections. The location is superb.

I didn't get my late check-in request approved, even though it went through. I was super stressed wondering if they left an envelope for me or not. Of course they did, but a quick yes or no would have been super helpful!

The Lanes bar and Staff are suuuper nice and I really enjoyed the stay. The location was close to all my destinations, easily manageable by foot.

i think i got lucky with my room and my roommates because had i stayed in another room I probably would have been annoyed by noise. and there were mice in the kitchen but they were respectful

The linoleum was lifting, possibly from damp. The communal kitchen was not in great order, dirty and full of dirty dishes. There were several areas in the corridors where the ceilings were damaged and the walls were significantly water damaged and mouldy. The whole communal area had a strange smell. The furniture was definitely past its best. The beds in the communal area were pushed together instead of being nicely distanced, even though the room was very large. I did not stay for my third night, and if I could have requested a refund, I would have. I paid £18 a night and you don't get what you paid for. I didn't expect it to be perfect, being a hostel, however I did expect the building to be in good repair and sanitary in the communal areas. As there were no staff at night there was no one to speak to if anything was wrong. In summary, the place doesn't seem fit for habitation until it's had some intense refurbishment.

I liked that the towels, bedding and showers appeared to be very clean and were comfortable to use. The bedding was warm. The staff were friendly when I contacted online and were able to help me with all of my requests even though I never met them face to face. It's in a great location, shops, bus stops and train station in walking distance.

The only issue was the noise on the street as customers left The Lanes and other clubs at 3am. A lot of noise.

Friendly helpful staff. Shared room was a good size, beds were comfortable. Location was great for me to meet my friends and explore.

No towels were available for us to wash but i don’t think that is always the case. Not a fan of the sort of indoor cabin wet rooms, tend to prefer standard showers and loos, but totally fine.

The beds and bedding was extremely comfy and better than I usually find in this type of hotel. Location is great, in the middle of town and it was great to get a private room for the 4 of us. Prove was exceptionally good value for location and comfort, I don’t remember when I’ve had such a good offer. Lovely bar downstairs with gorgeous bowling lanes open until 12.

loud at weekends. LOUD. wall of sound loud. quiet the rest of the week. room overlooked a traffic free side street. probably more longer term residents than backpackers. it was a bit grungy, which i liked, but might put people off.
