Heard a terrible argument at the reception from other people complaining about their rooms cleanness and / or damp but we didn't experience any of that, the staff handled the weird clients well and respectfully. However we do think that some extra cleaning overall would benefit this wonderful hotel.

Great and FAST check-in / check-out experience. The room we booked had been painted recently which blocked the window so we couldn't open it, the staff were kind to try and open it for us but didn't manage to so they changed our room with another one which was amazing and had a door to the backyard of the hotel! Highly recommend them and will be back again.

The room is in need of decoration , it even had the word fill written on the wall where it needed some repairs and lots of flaking paint.

    Location and staff were good.

Too expensive for what it offers. 2 nights for £244 - small double room no breakfast included. Breakfast £12 was a disaster only one type of bread. Fruits out of tin full of sugar no fresh fruit. Cereal options only 2 very poor. Staff very friendly but the hotel needs a massive upgrade and the offerings needs rethinking

It was clean and the staff were very helpful and supportive

Room number Not well sign posted. Creaky floors literally everywhere especially in the bedroom and above. Unable to shut and open windows especially in bathroom and window - jammed. Bathroom sink kept over flowing took longer to go down. Toilet location was crammed in. No free WiFi in rooms unless you paid for it Not much selection of breakfast cereal or any fruits or fruit yogurts.

Good location to beach and town center

Front desk were polite but didn't seem they wanted to go that extra mile for you , talking of miles we were situated at what seemed to be the furthest point of the hotel and weren't offered directions or a map ,we understand this a listed building but the lift was either in use or not fit to use So we walked th 14 flights of stairs to the room . Other than that the stay was great for us.

Lovely location , a fab evening signer the new refurbishements are looking great

One of the receptionists was very stand-offish . She didn’t smile once and acted as each of my requests (as I am disabled, I needed the mobile ramp to get into the hotel, I wanted a ground floor room and somewhere to charge my mobility scooter) were an imposition. The room had no telephone to call reception and there were no USB ports to charge my mobile. There was no room service menu that I could see. The window didn’t open.

Overall spacious, clean and well maintained. The room’s single bed was comfortable. The man who carried my bag to the room was very pleasant and made conversation about the history of the hotel and its recent refurbishment.

Cost me £25 to park and another £9 for WiFi so an affordable nights stay quickly becomes expensive.

Been staying here for years and I love the new decor etc and everything feels cleaner.

Check in experience was poor. Room was poor in terms of decoration and facilities. Room was very small indeed and no windows with any view at all (room 607). The room was desperately in need to a total refurbishment as is the whole hotel. IT seems that the hotel has lost it's identity. Breakfast was passable. Some of the breakfast products were not of the quality expected e.g. The scrambled egg tasted like it had sugar added to it (very strange indeed).

Location was excellent. No car parking onsite but a very cheap car park is just up the road.

The room was on floor 5 which was accessed along a long set of corridors before reaching the lift. I understand that the architecture of the hotel means this is necessary but it was tiring for me as my mobility is poor.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and quickly sorted out the issue with my room booking. The room was excellent and well looked after.

The tap in the bathroom of our room (609) pours water out the boundary’s of the sink when tap is opened enough to use - the extractor above the bath was full of dust/soot. Bed was uncomfortable could feel the springs when turning over in bed. In the leisure centre the vents above the toilet was also clogged of soot/dust The new charge for the swimming pool needs rethinking maybe a charge per hour could be introduced for those only staying one night when you can only book in at 16:00 and the pool shuts at 20:30 a day pass is not worth paying it would be nice if it was desirable to use for a few hours over a day pass for customers staying for short periods.

Property was on the sea front and was close to the BIC

Miserable staff, terrible security. The hotel can only be described as sprawling and shabby. Bars close 11pm sharp...hotel is a ghost town after that. Oh and the parking...25£a night! ...got there and carpark was full anyway...parked it in the council carpark opposite, got a ticket by 7am..and was pleasantly surprised to find that also came to 25 a night!

Size of room, French doors onto terrace and gardens.
