Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomDidn’t realise hot tub was extra, and only could use it 1 night as we were out all day walking on the Saturday and fire went out. Very disappointing. Could possibly have done with the staff maintaining the fire.
Beautiful cabin, lovely surroundings

United KingdomNo comfy seating, no WiFi, no TV , we had no mobile signal either so very cut off. Hosts were away on holiday so didn't have anyone onsite , had a power cut due to bad weather. Supposed to have a continental breakfast but all we had were 20 baby bell cheeses and a tub of barbecue sauce in fridge with milk. Othwr guests got bread and jam ?There was a box of porridge. Hot tub was £100 a night but after discussion wirh hosts they did concede to charge £100 for 5 night stay but why is it not electric , couldn't be bothered to light a fire to keep it hot so we missed out on that. Outdoor space is nice but in bad weather there is no top canopy to keep you dry so we felt a bit hemmed in a small space as it rained solid for 2 days. Hosts could supply kindling to help light the huge logs for fire pit, even at annextra cost. They did supply an extra bag for barbecue at no cost whjch was nice. Have stayed at luxury pods with a hot tub and they only charged £20 a night for 2 people. And had a TV for those dark wet nights. They did have a jigsaw but kitchen table was a bit small for this. Bathroom sink mirror could be a bit smaller and higher to allow room for head when brushing teeth .But overall it was a nice hut for peace and quiet.
Very clean. Bed comfy , nice location by a burn, our dog loved it. for a hut it was quite big. Nice to have a Shower whjch was hot. Outside space would have been great if it hadn't been raining.

United KingdomThe only thing that could have been improved was midgie nets on the windows - there was only a mozzie net on the bathroom window. But very helpfully there were midge wipes to rub on ourselves. Also would have appreciated a summer weight duvet /quilt, as it was during the heat wave. But that was exceptional circumstances, and i made do fine with the cotton blanket.
It was delightful! Gorgeous set up, was delighted to find gluten free bread and dairy free milk in the fridge, though I had booked only a day or two prior. Lovely situation in a private garden by the river, with the bbq ready to go though I didn't use it.

United KingdomIt is a very small property and that is not entirely reflected in the price. We were left a small breakfast with some milk, porridge pouches, jams, cheese and bread which was a nice thought however the bread was a day out of date when we arrived.
We thought the property was very sweet and situated in a picturesque setting. It was very modern and clean and was very practical.

United KingdomThe only 'criticisms' I have is that I had zero phone signal with Vodafone - although for many this will be a benefit!
The decoration of the shepherds hut is excellent with good quality cooking equipment, utensils ect... The hut is very private and has an excellent closed garden which is perfect for relaxing in the evenings. The location is great. We found that the north side of the island is a little bit more secluded but there are still great local pubs and coffee shops to visit. The hosts were great, very hospitable and provided great instructions before arrival. We had a really great stay and it's very hard to fault this one. Would definitely recommend.

United KingdomPorch lightbulb was out which just made it a bit awkward in the dark. Would have quite liked to hop on WiFi if main house had it. Some firelighters for the fire bowl would have made it easier to light. Would be nice to have a speaker to play phone music thru for some evening entertainment.
Very clean and still smells new. Great location for beach , sitting by the river with a cup of tea. Lots of nice touches and wee breakfast items were great.

United KingdomSonia and John had provided a lovely continental breakfast. The hut was nice and warm for our arrival, just what you need after a day exploring. We had great fun with the mountain bikes, and were even offered a late check out to make the most of them. The hut is stunning, and finished to a high standard. This place is truly not to be missed, the hosts have thought of every little detail and the location is great.
