Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAll good
Fantastic location in Cathedral Close with onsite parking and looking out over Salisbury Cathedral. 5 minutes walk to the city centre. Traditional building with quirky but comfortable rooms. Clean although could do with a lick of paint on the window sills. Excellent friendly staff. Cooked breakfast was very tasty. Would definitely stay again.

United KingdomThe window in my room could only be adjusted by standing on the windowsill!
The lass on reception for the afternoon/evening shift was a delight. Really helpful and kind. The breakfasts are wonderful; the full English in a beautiful, sun-filled dining room.

United KingdomOnly criticism I would have is that 2 of our 3 single rooms had no door between bedroom & bathroom which I think is pretty unacceptable!
Loved the location. Breakfast was great

United KingdomThere could have been a few more teabags provided for a twin room.
Lovely quiet room, simple and entirely unfussy decor, spacious clean bathroom; delightful staff on the door and again at breakfast. Breakfast was excellent, with a great spread of fruit salads as well as hot food, and the hall where the food is served is spacious, calmly lit, and has windows on all sides with plants and trees visible.

The staff are super friendly and welcoming from arrival to checkout. It is a perfectly central location to explore Salisbury and the surrounding area. It is obviously a college room but nonetheless it was comfortable, clean and excellent value for accommodation in the city on bank holiday.

Used Sarum college for a choir tour to the cathedral, very close to the cathedral, I chose a basic non ensuite room, it was cosy and had everything you need for a good night's sleep... Breakfast was good, the college staff were very friendly and helpful,

United States~ Everything was wonderful~
I LOVED our lodging at Sarum College, and felt like I found an extraordinarily-delightful secret place with others 'in the know.' The amazing breakfast, simple but spacious and clean room (& our room's sitting room and bathroom!), location (right in town, with everything in Salisbury that we wanted to explore within a few blocks, and a comfortable drive to both Avesbury and Stonehenge; due to its central proximity, we were even surprisingly able to fit in a few hours in Bath before heading to Windsor), affordability, and facilities/grounds were ideal! Fabulous Justine graciously guided us on-site with seamless check-in/out, easy-parking, and all our questions, and communication before we arrived was equally clear & impressive. Situated directly across a quiet road from the Cathedral, I truly felt like I was in sacred peaceful relaxing space. The fact that our lodging/stay's costs were directly supporting Sarum College and all its associated worthy non-profit projects was indeed icing on the cake: I hope to someday return for a longer hiatus at Sarum College.

BelgiumO well, we liked the whole package =).
Good breakfast buffet, clean, quiet hostel-type hotel. Just the old building (type boarding school - had been a convent) in the old Abbey court was worth seeing and staying in. The location could not have been better, stepping out of the door you had the salisbury Cathedral in front of you. Bed was comfortable to sleep, good shower (we had own bathroom), we even appreciated the lack of television.

AustraliaFacial tissues and hairdryer were not provided. We did not ask for it because one of our friends got a hairdryer. Frankly, it took us some time to find out the exact location of it. The post code does not give you the exact location. My suggestion is to use Google Maps and enter the whole address.
The location is excellent for us as we included visiting the Cathedral and the museum. Sarum College is just opposite to the Cathedral. Even on a rainy day when we stayed there, we were able to join the service at the Cathedral without getting wet - with an umbrella of course. It has a private car park that suits us perfectly. By the way, the breakfast was very good.
