The room was really comfortable, the breakfast and dinner delicious. The hotel had a very friendly feel to it.

The only problem we had was finding the place, it is well hidden down narrow lanes and we missed the turn from two different directions. We had trouble interpreting the satnav.

We loved the decor, the atmosphere and the food were wonderful. The Inn is peaceful with the sound of running water from the stream. Staff are helpful but not obtrusive. The food is amazing, we dined in both nights to sample more of the menu. Very diverse breakfast menu. The building is ancient but the rooms are well decorated with lovely modern bathrooms. The whole place is charming. I would recommend the Inn to anyone.

Reception not always manned, had to ring bell several times before someone came to desk.

Breakfasts were excellent. Dinner was fine dining although expensive and menu not very varied. Room was clean and tidy with all mod cons.

Perhaps a warning on booking that the way to our bedroom might be difficult for an elderly person. There was no lift, and narrow twisting stairs were difficult to negotiate.

The charm and character of the old building. The food, especially the breakfast; the best hotel breakfast I have ever had. The chocolates on leaving were a pleasant surprise.

Loved the location, staff very helpful , only stayed for one night as we were heading off to Whitby the following day. Our room was very clean and the bed was comfortable Had the full English breakfast, which was great , cereals, and the usual beverages were also available, Would definitely stay again if we visit this area of Yorkshire

Room was a just little on the small side for the price, accommodating only a queen size bed, although it was perfectly comfortable.

Lovely location, if a little tricky to find. Large free car park. Nicely furnished room, comfortable bed, and excellent bathroom. Very good restaurant with nice ambiance. Excellent breakfast. Would definitely recommend, and indeed would unhesitatingly return.

Set in a beautiful location. Very clean and ecstatically pleasing to the eye. Staff amazing and food just delicious. They looked after us so well.

My only downside was the windows in the room. I wasn't sure if either of them could be opened to allow some fresh air into the room. I imagine it would be stuffy in warmer weather.

Exceptional stay from start to finish. The room was beautiful, spacious and so comfortable. Breakfast was delicious with so much choice. Handmade chocolates on leaving were such a lovely gesture. We will be back very soon

The chips, we aren't big chip eaters anyway.

We enjoyed our whole stay, from start to finish. The attention to detail was second to none. The food was stunning, the best meal we have had in a long time. The breakfast was delicious. Our room was clean and comfortable and very in keeping with the theme of the hotel.
