How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Our room was in the basement and had no window to open so it was hard to breath inside, especially after you took shower.
Great location, very friendly staff, clean room. :)

There was a low generator noise that made it difficult to fall asleep. The noise of people walking up and down the corridors at night was distracting and some soundproofing would be advisable.
The location was excellent. The room and bed were comfortable. The breakfast was of a low standard but acceptable.

Although I liked the minimalist room (no wardrobe, just hanging space), the primary colours were a bit jarring. The main reason for not giving a five-star review was the noise at night from other guests, shouting in the corridor and banging on my door. The first night (Thursday) was fine, but Friday and Saturday were really rowdy between 1am and 3am. I reported this on Saturday morning, and there was a suggestion to move me to another room, but by the evening the staff had no idea and said 'same room.' Again, there was lots of noise. I mentioned it on checking out Sundsy morning but the staff member didn't say anything.
Very convenient for Cardiff Central Station, and the immediate area is greatly improved since my last visit, with pedestrian concourse and shops, while still being at the junction of the main street for pubs and restaurants.

Some facilities in the room are obviously worn out. The doors are not well protecting from the sound, so you can be awaken by your neighbours passing through the corridors. Plus periodical noise from the bathroom pipes when the residents of higher floors flush water.
Very nice location for the one day tourists. Just next to the station, close to the castle and to the Millennium Canter. The room was pretty spacious, with soundproof windows. A pot with tea and sugar was a great help-out in the morning.

The lack of tumblers in the bathroom and no wine glasses in the room, they would be a nice touch. Otherwise everything was absolutely spot on!
Great location! Comfortable beds, very clean and lovely friendly staff! Quite considering it's so close to the railway station.

I like to have a room with a bath
Perfect location for catching an early morning train. The staff are super helpful and accommodating which is important as I travel alone with my bike and luggage

Lovely big room comfortable beds bunk beds were amazing amazing location central to everything taxis always available from outside the hotel train station right next to the hotel and didn't hear any trains so excellent double glazing very friendly and helpful staff

Toilet seat unhinged, curtain hooks broken so couldn't shut out light.
Friendly helpful staff, clean room, comfortable bed, good double glazing so quiet despite being in city. Fantastic breakfast.

Room allocated was directly opposite The Great Western pub. I was awoken at 6:10am by the bottle bin? being emptied and the noises associated with a brewery delivery to the location.

Interior of the room is little bit outdated but still cannot really fault it.
First, all the staff I met very so nice and helpful, like it felt genuine. Chatted a little bit with few of them too. Location is great as it's next to the train station. Front door is controlled so adds to safety. Small nice hotel, price was so low which was very nice suprise. Room was good, bed was nice and had everything you need. Definitely worth the money and more! Didn't have breakfast there so cannot comment on that.

Quite a small room for the price, curtains were hard to close properly so got woken up by the light in the morning.
