Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThis was a last minute booking and Booking.com offered me an upgraded room for £15. I accepted the offer and was charged £24.75 for it. I queried this but as the link had then gone I had no photographic proof ( how can this not be traced?). The pool was lovely, not busy, the steam room was nice. I decided to have a long shower back in my hotel room rather than a quick shower at the pool, however, I then discovered the hair conditioner bottle was empty. Having no idea how long I would wait for it to be refilled and I was in the middle of showering I had to leave my hair unconditioned after going swimming. I reported this the following morning. My husband found the bed uncomfortable, I found the bed firm but good. We arrived at breakfast and the room was not too busy. Our pot of tea was brought over quickly and we were told to enjoy the continentel breakfast(which was excellent) and somebody would be over to take our order for the hot breakfast. After waiting roughly 20 mins after finishing the continentel breakfast I had to ask a member of staff to take our order. After roughly 30 mins of waiting for this, I had to ask if we would receive it soon. When it arrived the food was closer to warm than hot. We saw the room getting busier and then quiten down again, we also saw other people who arrived after us receiving their breakfasts and then leaving while we were still waiting. The staff did look to be working hard and I think we were just unfortunate to to overlooked, twice! Unfortunately my lasting impression was being slightly disapointed.
Location of the hotel was fantastic, the view from room was lovely, the pool was also very nice.

United KingdomGenerally staff were excellent but the service during our meal in the Garden Kitchen was poor. One waitress seemed to have far too many customers to cope with so service was very slow and unfriendly.
Fantastic location and brilliant room with views over Gylly beach.

United KingdomThe room was adequate but not worthy of the price charged. For example the shower was broken & required a repair. Car parking was difficult with a long walk from the room which was situated in another building to where my car was parked.
The Hotel staff were very helpful & friendly. I am sure the spa was very good but I didn't have time!

United KingdomParking! For the number of rooms the available parking is nowhere near adequate. I had to park in the 'pay & display' down the hill. It's not far, but it's fortunate I don't have any mobility issues as if so it could cause a problem as the hill, while short, is relatively steep.
Great reception on arrival, and the hotel and room are very clean and 'neat'. The only meal I had was breakfast, which was served quickly and was excellent.

United KingdomThe walls are very thin. Could hear conversations above us, as well as the extractor fan going off in the room next to us. The grouting needs doing in the bathroom.
The bar is beautiful, the food was amazing, the breaking choices were great. The room was lovely with robes and the pool and gym were great. Received drinks voucher for my friends birthday with a card. The location is amazing with beautiful views.

United KingdomPaid extra for a balcony which wasn’t a very good lay out in the room, couldn’t see out easy and had a block of apartments in our view. Was supposed to be a live singer on which was looking forward to which never showed up. Also think the hydrotherapy pool should be included in the price when you stay.
Absolutely loved the hydrotherapy pool and outdoor facilities.

IrelandNothing negative other than parking which at times was very busy but we knew this in advance. Uphill 15 min walk to the town if that would be an issue for you.
The hotel was beautifully decorated. Great view from the dining room, breakfast was excellent. Staff were very friendly. A, fridge was added to our room which was great. We will definitely go back there to stay again. Hotel offered us, a discount as there were building works starting next door

United KingdomWe booked a room with a courtyard for the outdoor space. Then told there was building works so we were moved to a different room upstairs. This room looked clearly onto what looked like a building site. We would have been better on lower ground as we wouldnt have seen the mess from the fence surrounding the courtyard. I feel we moved and ended up worse off.
Food was lovely and friendly staff, pool.was very clean. Bed was lovely and comfortable.

United KingdomThe TV could do with more channels. A dog was barking in one of the nearby rooms. Drilling from the work being done started early. I think 8.00 am is too early as I wanted to sleep in for a rest.
The ambience of the hotel and the friendly, attentive staff members. The food is very good, especially the breakfasts. The locality of the hotel is also superb.
