Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe cottage was warm and welcoming on our arrival, our lovely hosts had put the heating and fairy lights on ready for us. The whole place was immaculate, so clean and they had left a welcome hamper and pack with all the information we could have needed. There was a good range of tv channels and we chose to use the Spotify app on the tv to play music which was perfect. The cottage had everything we needed and the beds were very comfortable. The lighting throughout the house and the decor and furniture are really lovely giving a cosy feel. I would highly recommend staying in Stone Cottage. Our hosts were so helpful and really quick to get back to us with any queries, we will definitely be coming back.

The Stone Cottage is in a terrific location within walking distance of food, coffee, grocery stores, petrol etc. it is immaculately clean and they have thought of all the little amenities which make travel special. Their welcome basket and bottle of Prosecco was a generous touch. They communicated brilliantly throughout the stay. We can’t wait to come back!

United KingdomBeautifully decorated and spacious cottage with everything we needed. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was well equipped and there were two designated parking spaces. Lovely ‘welcome basket’ of snacks when we arrived and gentle classical music playing on the radio gave the cottage a very welcoming feel. We discovered a bus stop 2 mins away and it was only a 25 min journey into Salisbury. Can highly recommend Piazza, Italian restaurant in Amesbury (just 5 mins walk from the cottage), for a delicious meal and great atmosphere. All in all we had a great weekend.

United KingdomThere was nothing to dislike!
This is a beautifully furnished, fabulous cottage. It has everything you might need and is very clean, bright and tastefully decorated. There is a generous dining table alongside the well-equipped kitchen, large comfortable lounge, and an outside table with benches and parasol on the back patio. There was a welcome basket with several goodies on arrival which was a lovely touch. The bedrooms were spacious with very comfortable beds and pristine bedding, and there was ample wardrobe and drawer space. In the lounge is a file with comprehensive and useful information on the property and nearby places of interest. Darren kept in close contact with us leading up to our stay, giving us wonderfully clear instructions which made our arrival very straightforward, and the location is very handy, being close to the town centre and with several takeaway options just opposite. I would not hesitate to recommend this beautiful property

United KingdomIt was a real home from home. It had a full kitchen that was easy to use. The hosts were great in handling our last minute booking and Sarah met us as we arrived to ensure everything was ok in the cottage and provided a welcome basket with biscuits and snacks in. Everything was really well presented and clean. If we were back visiting the area this would be our first choice in a place to stay.

AustraliaIt was clear when we booked that there was only one bathroom, a master and a twin room but we found it a little compact for two couples. The shower is over the bath which can be a little problematic for older folk.
The Cottage is central, beautifully renovated and very well-appointed. The welcome pack much appreciated.

United KingdomBefore arrival we had excellent communication from the owners including detailed directions. The property is a hidden gem! Immaculately clean, tastefully decorated and a huge amount of extras which made the stay extra special. The beds were super comfy with 'like new' bedding, protectors, duvets and pillows. Fully equipped kitchen with everything you need provided and all of great quality. The house was really welcoming with a beautifully lite Christmas tree and Christmas decorations. It is perfectly located just off the A303 but peaceful enough for a good night's sleep. We were able to park up and head just across the road to a choice of takeaways and a supermarket. I have encountered many holiday properties and Stone Cottage has by far been the best! Thank you for a great stay and all the extra effort of making it a pleasant time.

United StatesThe beds and bedding were just average. I would have appreciated sheets that felt better quality, and nicer pillows. The pillows were thin and flat. The comforter was lightweight and poly fiber, which was not very warm or cozy. The queen bed room had a nice dresser, but the twin bed room has no place to put things once unpacked. We ended up using the ironing board as a place to stage some of our clothing.
The living area was wonderful. Both the living room and the dining area were perfect for our needs. The kitchen was new and very attractive. We all loved the bathroom and the tub was appreciated.
