Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

UKUnfortunately there is only a bathtub but no shower which has made very difficult to have a nice wash after the beach. Impossible to wash hair plenty of sand. Landlord should fix this issue asap. The house looks clean but carpet in the master bedroom has not been hoovered properly ( especially under beds ). Couch was also incredible dirty. I would recommend a proper deep cleaning of it considering house is pet friendly. I moved the cushions and underneath was plenty of pets’ hair. It definitely need a proper sanitation.
The house looks very cozy with nice furniture. Kitchen is well equipped.

United KingdomThe bath is small and there is no shower, there was an attachment but it doesn't seem to fit on the taps. Also, it wasn't obvious that we needed to bring toilet roll and we arrived at 11pm, all needing the loo and the shop was shut, this is a basic which I feel should be included. Rooms a little small also. Facilities are very basic, no iron, no freezer.
Great location, comfy beds and living room and good supply of kitchen stuff. Local bakery is amazing. Nice little welcome pack of milk, biscuits, tea and coffee.

United KingdomThe bed was not overly comfortable, could feel the springs. A new mattress was being delivered while we there so that may have been a replacement. There was no shower over the bath
Really lovely, homely accommodation, nice touch re the welcome pack provided, plenty of space for 2 people, nice garden area, quiet location, but close to St Merryn, Harry Bay and Padstow

United KingdomLocation wasn't the best, as it was much further from the beach or the village than it was described. Wasn't a problem for us as we were happy to drive to places, although parking charges at the beaches and local towns came up to £30 in just 4 days. Double bed mattress needs changing, was really uncomfortable to sleep while the bumpy bits were jamming into your body. No shower head - real trouble, as I couldn't wash my hair. It was 4 of us and by the time we all had our bath, half of the day was gone, very inconvenient. Mixer taps on the sinks would also help. WiFi doesn't work at all. Considering that mobile network signal is very poor in the area, good WiFi would be handy. A bit overpriced considering the above.
The place was very clean (probably the cleanest I've ever seen in England). The person that owns the place really cares about the details. Very pleasant atmosphere in the house. It was very kind of the owner to leave tea, coffee and biscuits for us. Overall it's a good place.

United KingdomUnfortunately the mattress on the bed had seen better days. The springs could be felt so we used the duvet on top to make it more comfortable as it was a warm night fortunately.
Property was very clean and I a good location.

United KingdomThe only criticisms would be the lack of a shower and the comfort of the double bed. The mattresses on the bunk beds was far superior to the mattress on the double bed which felt uncomfortable due to the springs.
The location was ideal for quick travel to local beaches. The accommodation was clean, lots of extra kitchen utensils provided so it was like being at home. There was also free wifi which was an added bonus. It was also a nice touch for tea/coffee and biscuits to be provided.

FranceThe bathroom is equipped with a bath tub, and there is no hand shower. I would suggest to add it as well as a shower curtain, if possible. It would improve the comfort enormously. We were forced to use a small bucket to rinse. The second bedroom for kids is very small. We were there with a teenager, and she felt like in a Harry Potter's storage room under the stairs (quotation ;-)). The master bedroom is bigger, but also on the small side. The mattress in the master bedroom is a bit uncomfortable, I would suggest to add a mattress topper.
Great value for money. Nicely decorated with a homely feel to it. Comfortable and fairly spacious living space. Very well-equipped kitchen. Good quality bed linen. Calm location in a holiday park, less than 10 min drive to closest beaches. Private parking space. We spent a great week there.

United Kingdomwifi just didn’t seem to work might be worth getting a booster or changing providers. mobile network was problematic too whilst in the house but that was no problem for us and is no ones fault of course.
Amazing holiday home.clean and on a lovely holiday park with pretty chalets. the photos don’t do it justice. everything seems so new and decor is modern and minimal, clean and modern. matching kitchen utensils and lovely little home. private parking to side of house, well heated home, running hot water, cooker, fridge, hair dryer,tv with Netflix and other apps. two bedrooms, one with a bunk bed and another with a double bed, so clean with fresh linen and towels. There are lots of beaches nearby, take your pick! we went to Rick steins pub The Cornish arms around the corner (literally) and one called The farmers arms both in St Merryn. Polzeath beach is not far either we ventured there we loved it! surfers dream! so many places were not far, its so well located. Eden project was about 30 minutes away we loved that too. amazing location in a quiet little village but easy enough to get to other places. owner was contactable via the booking app and very helpful. hope this helps any potential bookings as i find it helpful when looking at reviews when they are comprehensive.

United KingdomLacked a shower. The twin room was smaller than we’d expected. No fault of the actual property, but it was a real shame that there were no walks / footpaths from the property to the nearby village. The road was not very safe to walk on so we had to drive everywhere.
Friendly owner who helped us with our stay and internet issues. In a good location for exploring the beaches nearby. Good outside space. Friendly neighbours. Off road parking.
