How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

just struggled with not being able to open a window to let in some fresh air. The hotel has no external signage so nit he easiest to find.

If I was being really picky, aircon made the room vibrate slightly, and from the outside the accomodation was not easy to spot as there was no external signage, but as I say that is being really picky!
Great price, great location really close to Liverpool St Station and the city. Clean and comfortable. Aircon kept the room cool. Lovely little gift of some chocolates and a bottle opener keey ring! Decent power from the shower.

The plumbing was noticeably noisy at night. A complimentary pair of ear plugs took care of that.
Free Netflix and WiFi, clean, economical, and centrally located.

The location is poor. There is no sign to say that it's the hotel, just the address. So when you press the buzzer there is no immediate answer. It doesn't even show on maps that it's a hotel. I panicked that I had been scammed. It was only when another guest had come down was I able to check that I was in the right place!
The room was very clean, comfortable and the decor was beautiful. Cute little additions to the room.

Noise ingress from bordering rooms.. could.hear ppl.speaking through the walls and their using the wash facilities. However, this is only when it happens so doesn't become too much of a bother. Was sink could be bigger. But I only used one room so don't know how all the other rooms were set up. Basement floor appeared to have only one way out... couldn't see a second emergency exit. I would use again
The set up felt homeley and you could see the owners have put thought into the room amenities

Right next to a visa processing center. That gold strip on the pillows is plastic and not for sleeping.

Just what we needed for an overnight stay. Small but well thought out rooms with everything you need. Tea, coffee, water and a gift! Great location for Barbican, 10 minutes walk away.

The room was tiny and stuffy. No Aircon, only a single chair with no place to even put the luggage.
Well situated and 24h access. Staff was friendly and helpful.

A little far from the City if walking (not the fault of the hotel though).
Very friendly and helpful receptionist. Clean room with new modern decoration. A little gift of keyring and sweets left in the room was really nice touch. Shower pressure was good! There was hair dryer and iron / ironing board in the room as well which can be very handy for longer stay.

Slightly confusing on how to find property and check in process, but other than that we had a great stay!
Very clean, nice room, clearly newly refurbished, good value for money. Friendly staff, free slippers which came in handy. Very welcoming.

Relatively hard bed and pillow (not my style could be some people’s). Room was warm without window open and even then got a little warm. Elevator, may as well take the stairs. Hallway noise a little loud at times.

If being picky, the sound proofing could have been a little better, but earplugs were provided and I managed to sleep well

Could do with a blind for the sky lights or some eye masks as very light in the morning. Walls to next room are thin and can hear the people next door. Somewhere to hang the towels in the bathroom when not in use.
Size of the room, decor and facilities were good. Very clean. Location was good.

I would have enjoyed some coffee mugs instead of paper cups and for these to be refilled as we only had enough for one the first morning. I could have asked at reception but I didn’t.
It was clean, comfortable and staff on the reception very friendly. Perfect location and extremely good value for money.

A lot of home perfumes everywhere.
Great value for money Very convenient location - bus stop is just 3 mins from the Studio, underground stop is about 7 mins short walk. The room is small but it was enough for us. Everything was clean (only the window could have been cleaner). The staff was very friendly.
