Amazing contemporary property with views of the water. Interior is in excellent condition and has every amenity you could possibly want. A super king bed with large sitting area, roomy shower in bathroom with a soaking tub. Breakfast and Dinner was included with our stay. Many thanks to Chef Scott for 3 exceptional breakfasts and dinners that rival any Michelin star restaurant. All prepared with locally sourced. Thanks also to Murdo for all the best walking trails on Skye to fantastic service and great coffee. We loved all our chats. Can say enough good things about Taransay House. Truly an exceptional place to spend a few days on the beautiful Isle of Skye.

Everything was perfect.

Amazing location; convenient yet quiet. Murdo and Scott were wonderful-knowledgable, helpful, and fun to talk with. Scott is an excellent chef! The meals were so delicious and beautifully presented. Murdo was helpful with providing insider information and tips. We loved our stay and want to stay here again.

An outstanding address in Isle of Skye/Portree. Sea view. Brand new guest house. Everything in perfect condition. Murdo is a super nice host with great suggestions about the island. He takes time to listen and advise customers.

The food exceeded our expectations. Murdo and his son Scott are an amazing team of hosts for the guests. It’s a very cozy setting, and very high quality of food. It was like being at a 7 star restaurant.

Everything was superb from the moment we arrive! The food, the hotel itself and both Murdo and Scott are very hospitable and friendly. I love how we don't have to worry about our meals (breakfast and dinner) and we can just chill and relax and enjoy! The food is Michelin star grade and we were grateful how Scott would check and customize them to our preference. The room is spacious, modern, comfortable and the bath tub is huge!! Murdo did a great job in explaining to us how to get around and the places we should visit. Thank you so much ❤️🌈 would definitely be back if i were to visit skye again!

Was meant to give a 10 but in my opinion, it was a bit too pricey for a night stay.

Where do I start? The host welcomed us in personally when we arrived, gave us some whiskey, gave us a room tour, and we had a nice chat, he also provided us with what to see during our drive from Portree to Inverness the next day! The room itself was bright and modern, with a nice double bed and a decent bathtub! The view from the room is excellent, overlooking Loch Portree. The food provided in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast (both included in the price) was really good! Would definitely recommend staying here as a nice treat to yourself!

Taransay House is one of the best places I have stayed. Murdo and Scott were amazing hosts - including but not limited to chef, activities suggestor, weathermen…. The room/hotel was a lovely size, the amenities were great (huge bath, separate shower, wonderful linens, king bed, separate seating), very thick walls so very quiet, great views, close to town, food was amazing with Scott planning each day with you

Exceptional family-owned accommodation, with the attention to detail. We loved every minute of our stay here and would like to thank Murdo and Alison for their hospitality, and Scott for the exceptional cuisine - we had a great dinner experience compared to a Michelin-starred restaurant. Next time when we are back to Portree there is no question for us where to stay :)

A fabulous b and b.Murdo and Scott are marvellous hosts who go beyond the usual to provide you a comfortable stay. Hospitality and food is exceptional. Room is large ( 2 TV areas) and quiet.

Everything was great. Only issue was believing google maps and my failure to see the distinctive bird sculpture!

One of the best food I have ever had in a hotel! we were able to chat with Scott the talented chef and express preferences for dishes. The fish was perfectly cooked. Great location, lovely view, spacious room

Had an incredible stay! The food was phenomenal, the wild garlic + scallops were a big highlight — was a farm-to-table experience with the chef. Murdo was a great host, he presented us with some fine highland scotch upon arrival, and also gave us recommendations for Isle of Skye as well as places to stop on the way to Inverness.

We don't have any complaints from our too brief stay. They attended to our own particular challenges .

The rooms were modern & beautiful. The included breakfasts & dinners were divine. Don't skip them & eat elsewhere. Get your outside meals done for lunch. Murdo was very accommodating & helpful in planning our days. Add in beautiful views of the bay & the Taransay House is a wonderful respite and launching point for your travels around Skye.
