No evening meal service but the Landlord recommended The Cottage Inn which was excellent.

Lovely spacious accommodation located behind the pub with ample parking. Landlord was friendly and welcoming. Great breakfast.

The mattress was like a board - honestly the only negative point about the whole stay sadly.

The breakfast was plentiful - and included in the price - cereal, toast, juice and full English. The room was very spacious, very tasteful, and the bathroom was spotless.

Weren't serving evening meals during our stay but not really an issue as travelled down the road to The Cottage.

Room was excellent, very spacious especially as had two dogs with us. Rooms are located behind the pub which is great. Great breakfast each morning , highly recommend The Ancient Mariner.

The breakfast room had to access through the fire door into the pub guests had to let other people in and wasn't easy to open. As a fire exit door in itself that needs sorting. Breakfast was in the pool table room. Dated. Pub being run by temporary manager who was trying to do all of it by himself, cooking and serving the first day was there, had help someone serving the 2nd day. Better. Did a great job considering and said hello chatted to guests, friendly quirky sense of humour! Full English. Well cooked but small. One small slice bacon, sausage not the best. Filter coffee. Tea on request. Another guest asked for scrambled eggs so could have different things if asked, wasn't a menu. I think if asked for anything extra would have been fine too, like more toast. A little disappointed for price I paid, especially as rate reduced the next day on the site to something more reasonable. Simple things like maybe table cloths, all white crockery, option of cafetier could update it, improve quality and impression. No evening meals served in the pub which I'd been expecting, think just while under temporary management?

The room was spacious and clean, huge walk in shower room, quiet, clean, comfortable beds. Underfloor heating.. was a bit cool when I got there horrible windy cold rainy weather but room was very toasty after an eve there. Plenty of parking right next to accommodation. Nice middle planted area. Easy to get in and out. Heated towel radiator so could dry towel. Towels provided. Friendly host. Nice village to explore, is opposite National Trust Coleridge home, could get a good coffee there. No other cafe in village. I didn't go in pub but looked nice, cosy areas inside and could take dog in. The front side rooms had comfy seating, little lights looked more up to date, other parts more traditional which I think good something for everyone. Also nice outdoor seated garden area and covered bit at the back of pub which would have been lovely if hadn't been raining. I'd say as a base, and if wanted to go to pub or one of others in village great place to stay. Can't fault the accommodation also if climate conscious accommodation solar panels and heat pump source energy.

There is no longer any cooked food available in the adjacent pub, although sandwiches from the local food was sufficient for me.

Very large bed, bedroom and bathroom. The breakfast was of good quality, although had issues getting in the back room of the pub, as the security door is quite stiff and the waitress was busy in the kitchen.

The bed I had was supposed to be a double but it was two single matresses pushed together. It was uncomfortable. Also, I really did not like the green emergency lights I could not get to sleep

Rooms were very spacious, I liked the facilities and the staff were exceptionally kind caring and supportive. They were accomodating and went out the way to ensure I had enough support as I had a funeral. The food was really good and reasonably priced. The location was really good as the rest of the village was close by.

Green light on all night on the ceiling light. Breakfast wasn't great, came out as soon as we'd ordered it so no time for cereal and it was fatty & dry. Cut off for breakfast was 9.30 we got there at 9.10am.

Friendly staff, able to watch the rugby too.Lovely spacious sized room, bed & bathroom. .

My partner has allergies and was able to sense (and find) some dust but didn't impact our stay 🙂

Travelled up for a wedding at Quantock Lake Wedding Venue. Really close, easy check in, spacious rooms and breakfast included! Can't fault at all for the price.

The pillows were flat and lumpy The duvet was very thin. But it did not spoil our time, and I'm sure if I had mentioned it, they would have been changed
