Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomShower was very small. Bit of a walk (50mins) from City Centre.
Everything my son and I needed. Comfortable beds. Good kitchen with oven and oven pan, microwave, kettle, toaster, sink and basic utensils (spoons, folks, knives, bottle opener). There was a fridge. It was clean and had lots of electrical sockets in convenient places. We only stayed one night but there was plenty of storage space if you happened to be staying longer. There's a Co-op supermarket round the corner on Coronation Road and loads more shops and restaurants on North Street. Felt safe. Happy.

Perfect location for us, we stayed one night. Enjoyed the Bristol brewery that is just up the road and walked to town (took only 20min). You got everything you need, plus the beds are super comfy.

AustraliaBathroom off main Entrance Hall that was not private and accessible to other renters. Other renters noisy, had to open and shut a door a couple of times to let them know there were other people at the property.
Location Good for either Walking or Public Transport into City Center. Quick responses from Hosts. Super Clean. Access to Garden. Able to cook meals. Easy to find and Park.

United KingdomThe bathroom is private but outside the main room. Essentially you go through the front door and to your right are stairs to the upstairs rental and opposite 2 doors;, the main room and the bathroom. On our visit 2 things occurred. Firstly we came home approx 11pm and shortly afterwards the other group (2 friends) arrived home. They locked the front door, deadlocked it and left the key in the lock so if we had not already been back we would not have been able to get in. Secondly they did not realise that the bathroom was private ( they had their own one upstairs) so went to our loo and then the young man came down again for a shower with just a towel round them . Luckily we heard them on the stairs so my husband opened the door and explained. The owners could not have prempted these things happening so these are not reasons not to stay. I am sure they will review signage and messaging for future guests. The place is lovely.
Excellent location. Very clean. Full kitchen which would be useful if staying a few days, we were just over night. Milk, coffee, tea, sugar and salt and oil provided which is very thoughtful.

United KingdomNothing.
Lovely clean room with kitchen and outdoor area. WiFi, fridge, tea and coffee making, kettle and toaster. Comfortable beds. Clear instructions from owner how to get into apartment. Left us some milk which was great. The bedside lamp didn't work unfortunately. Had our own bathroom which was great and shower which was fab. Towels and toiletries provided. Pity the people upstairs came in quite noisily at 4.30am but that isn't any fault of the owner. We had a very comfortable stay and would recommend. Thanks Maria. Liz and Mike

United KingdomThe only downside is although you have a private bathroom it's located next to your apartment in the entrance corridor. So you might come out of shower in a towel to someone entering the front door or upstairs tenants leaving. Just not as easy to access bathroom for trips to the loo in the night as if in the same room. Would not put me off booking again though.
Easy parking just outside on the street and a good location for where we wanted to be. Bed was really comfy, one of the best I have had in a rental property. Had everything you needed for self catering. Milk in fridge so we were able to make tea and coffee on arrival. Lovely little courtyard garden. Clean and tidy and quite spacious.

AustriaThe bathrooms are in the staircase, which affects the privacy especially of the downstairs appartement. It was not clear from the description if breakfast is provided, it is not. However some ingredients like coffee, tea etc are available.
There are two apartments in a small house. We had the upstairs one. Self checkin instruction came late, but was clear. It is some walk to town, especially since the pedestrian bridge close by was closed. A parking permit was provided for one day. We met the owners in the morning and they are very nice.

United KingdomIt did look like there was fruit, jams etc in the photos but I guess this might be the breakfast you pay extra for? There were 3 separate doors to our "apartment" at the top of the stairs.. Not a main entrance door to the first floor as I would expect. I'm not sure if someone else was using the bathroom on our level. Downstairs could have access to it.
Location was in easy walking distance of the waterfront. Plenty of parking and a permit provided. Comfortable beds and nice bedding. Any queries were answered quickly and communication was good.

PolandThere was no chef's knife and there could be a bigger pan available, that made cooking a bit tough.
Great location, not far off from the city center, in a quiet neighbourhood but with a lot of shops and bars fairly nearby. Access to a garden was very pleasureful, beds and towels are being done each day, fresh milk in a fridge is something i didn't expect i wanted but now i do.
