Spotlessly clean accommodation. Stylish decor and furniture. Excellent quality furniture, fixtures and fittings. Quality bedding and comfy bed. Pillows exceptionally comfortable. Friendly, welcoming staff.

Parking was more difficult than expected (wasn't able to extend our timing to cover what we required on the day of check out and then ended up with a ticket after moving the car to a different parking location). Room was quite warm and a little tired, but very clean and a fan was provided too.

Bed was comfortable, staff were super friendly and helpful and breakfast was great and included. Also enjoyed lunch in the pub. Room had everything needed e.g. iron, hair dryer, tea and coffee etc. Taxi's easy and lots around eg. restaurants, shops, nice walking routes.

The Black Hat is a great historic pub in the centre of Ilkley. It’s in a central location right next to the car park and within easy walk of all of the shops, bars and restaurants. It’s also very close to the riverside parks, which offers some lovely walks around the river Wharfe. My room (named after Yorkshire cricketer Fred Trueman) was very comfortable, clean and modern. It had everything I needed. The veggie breakfast was great and the managers and staff were friendly. My room overlooked one of the main roads through town, which could be a little noisy if you have the window open in the early hours of the morning. There’s a separate internal sliding window that cuts down the noise to a minimum, though, so it wasn’t a problem. I really enjoyed my stay and would come back again.

If i'm being picky, there were only 4 coffee pods, 2 of which were decaff, then all the instant coffee packets were decaff meaning only enough for 1 caffinated coffee each.

The doggy welcome pack was such a lovely touch. Nice having a coffee machine with nice coffee in the room and the radio was another nice little touch. The shower was great too! Staff were so welcoming and really helped make the stay. We will definitely be returning.

Absolutely nothing, everything was top notch.

Hosts and all staff were excellent, from serving meals to showing us around the property on our arrival. Nothing was a problem and we appreciated their hospitality. Room was very clean and bathroom area excellent. A massive good quality breakfast was my personal highlight.

I was very happy with everything. It is accommodation above a pub (no noise issue) but I liked it very much.

I liked the breakfast, thought it was excellent, plenty of it and good value (included in the price). But the person I was travelling is, is fussy about their food and was not impressed.... horses for courses!

The staff were brilliant smiley and friendly Thanks Sarah. The rooms were stylish and scrupulously clean , think that’s down to Rae. Breakfast great and very big . Plus you can choose other items if you don’t want big breakfast.

There was nothing we didn't like - it might be useful to note that the room faces onto a busy road but with the double glazing it was fine; the room was accessed up a flight of fairly steep stairs but it was no problem for us.

Breakfast was great, we had the veggie full English and there was plenty of it! The location was handy for our needs, parking was easy (public car park behind the pub) although of course we had to pay for it. The team were super friendly and helpful. We were in a huge rush when we checked in and they were really accommodating to our needs. Thank you!
