Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomLuxurious rooms with a very comfy bed. Enjoyed the privacy and quiet from having a balcony room in the boat house. Rooms have lots of little touches like ground coffee and Scottish fine soap company toiletries. Something for everyone at breakfast and you are able to have a cold option as well as something from the hot choices. Highly recommend booking a table in advance for dinner - food and cocktails are excellent but it is a very popular place.

United KingdomOnly negative is poor insulation in the rooms.
A beautiful and spacious room with a splendid balcony. Comfortable and clean. The food at both breakfast and dinner was spot on. This pub with accommodation is featured in the Good Pub Guide, Good Beer Guide and the Michelin Eating Out guide. Absolutely delightful and cheerful crew. Full reviews on TripAdvisor Torbayaotearoa.

United StatesAs a hotel guest we were always seated in the back of the restaurant where the partitions were high, felt claustrophobic with no view of anything other than your party and a wall. Wouldn’t have minded it if it was just once BUT it was for every meal. Perhaps consider lowering your partitions OR not seating your guests in the back all the time.
Very friendly staff, fantastic location, very quiet, good was fabulous!!!

United KingdomWe had one of the smaller rooms but it did not lack in comfort - the bed was huge and super comfy, the shower was great too. Staff were polite, friendly and helpful and our dog 🐶 was made to feel very welcome. In our room there was a bowl of biscuits for him, a towel, poo bags and plastic mat for his bowl. Our dog's cage was placed under the room window, and the three of us had a comfy night with the windows open listening to the birds in the nearby trees. Dinner was good and very busy (always book a table), a bowl of water for our pooch and, lovely cocktails 🍸on the menu - a nice treat to have one! Breakfast was superb, a great range to choose from, and again, served by friendly, helpful staff. Excellent walks locally, particularly right opposite along the Dee, and further up the road to an open park. The Boat Inn excels in location, breakfast and staff - they're the best. This is a perfect example of a dog friendly destination 🐾🙌🐶🙌🐾

AustraliaThe room was gorgeous, clean, cosy and warm. The breakfast was amazing and the staff are brilliant. We had dinner there too, our meals were fantastic. Ensure you book ahead for dinner. The location is great too as they are a 25 minute drive to Balmoral Castle and an hour to the coast (Aberdeen) also, being in the Cairngorms National Park is great for hiking or just driving through, so pretty. I love that the Inn is right on the River Dee, makes for a great stay.

LithuaniaDouble bed was actually two singles pushed together, which for those that like to snuggle may find themselves getting lost in a crevice. Random green light above the door kept a very bright ambience in a room, for people that need full dark to sleep will be a struggle. Room is not sound proof, we could hear people downstairs pretty well. Lack of variation of meals in a restaurant.
Nice interior design, cosy sort of feel. The room was clean, good location, good atmosphere, lovely bar staff at night. Nice breakfast and drinks. We liked the fireplaces. Overall, I think it is well priced.

United KingdomThe hotel was brilliant. There was absolutely nothing to not like. The features in the room were lovely. The bed was mahusive and comfy. The fireplace in the bar was so cosy. Breakfast was superb. Staff were 100 percent the best.
Staff were warm and welcoming. Well looked after. Food great. Room fantastic. We enjoyed our stay so much. Being a bit disabled i appreciated being on the ground floor. Was disappointed that the guest upstairs from us decided we were chatting to loud in our room and started to banging very loudly on the ceiling above us with her feet. We were not being loud and the TV was turned down. It was a shame as i was so annoyed by their behaviour i didnt sleep. The hotel was fabulous though.

United KingdomOur stay was too short.
The location couldn't be better. Our room was spotless, the bed super comfy. All the staff we interacted with were very friendly and the service at breakfast and evening meal was excellent. The food was freshly prepped, piping hot. A good selection available for both breakfast and our evening meals. Their craft lager was on point.
