How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

there was some noise on the night we stayed from around 1am-3am, possible local venue with a late licence. we've stayed before with no issues, we stayed on a different side that time. so that could be the issue. we also encountered slamming of doors from 830am-1030am, possibly the cleaners as it went on for some time - couldn't have been other guests.

The room was a little smaller than anticipated but it was still fine (the picture of the twin room online looked bigger than in reality).
The bed was extremely comfortable, the room was beautifully decorated. the restaurant was stunning and delicious food. I was travelling for work and used the gym - it was by far the biggest, most well equipped and design hotel gym that I have ever visited.

Reception staff could be a bit more organised. I found myself waiting a little too long at check in and check out was the same thing. Polite? yes but need to improve on timekeeping and loading the system beforehand so they’re prepared for guests when they arrive.
You get what you pay for, the photos match up to reality. I love how precise the marketing is as it doesn’t fall behind expectation. Lavish room, friendly staff, great facilities. Enjoyed the pool as it gives great view of the city.

TV offering could be better. Signal wasn't great and limited choice of channels/entertainment options. Coffee in the room also not at the standard I would expect from hotel in this location/price bracket.
Decor was great. Quality shower and staff were friendly and attentive. Cocktails were well made too.

The Location of the hotel is easy to get to, and slightly quieter tucked behind a main road. Reception staff are very welcoming as were the bar staff. The rooms are lovely and modern, comfy beds and pillows and a lovely steam shower and heated floor.

Sliding Door to bathroom was not fixed ptoperly very difficult to open and close.

Staff very welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us . Very cosy , immaculate and luxurious bedroom , bed extremely comfortable . The hotel had a lovely ambience , decor and aroma throughout . The roof terrace is wonderful with amazing views with pool . Also the lobby and cafe is welcoming and cosy and feels safe . We liked the location being near to Spitalfields , Brick Lane and Broadway Market . Highly recommend if you’re staying in this area , we hope to return

Check in staff could've been friendlier. Had a few issues with room service breakfast, order was wrong twice and the second time they shrugged and said oh well kitchen closed. The actual hotel is fantastic, those issues are minor service issues.
Great hotel, nice vibe. Good location for me. Beds very comfortable. Steam shower fantastic. Rooftop restaurant and pool very cool. Great gym.

We loved how spacious the room was and the size/deco of the bathroom. The shower features was beyond perfect. Overall we loved staying and the Mondrian. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Amazing rooftop pool, great vermouth selection in the bar. Staff lovely and helpful. Spa staff gave us free samples when they saw it was my wife's birthday. Delicious coffee pods- not decaf!

Service in the roof top bar was slow. We paid extra for breakfast which was tasty but choice was limited, could only choose tea or coffee, cooked breakfast or fruit, yoghurt. To charge £25 for breakfast and have limited choice feels ipenny pinching.
