Nice hotel, great staff, super location, but let down by it's poor beds.

Sadly the bed was awful and clearly very old meaning that we both had bad sleep on both nights of our stay which was not ideal, the pillows were also very flat and uncomfortable. The beds in other Mercure hotels I have stayed at recently have been much better and sadly this let the whole thing down. The bathroom also only had one towel for two and the other was tucked away on a shelf in the wardrobe which was a bit odd. The housecleaning then removed the second towel from the bathroom and replaced the one in the wardrobe, again just quite odd when the room is for two.

The room was spacious and contemporary in design which made for both a good first impression and enjoyable part of our stay. The bathroom was also nice with a good shower. The location of the hotel could not have been more central for what we wanted. The amenities provided in the room were also a nice touch.

Pillows a bit flat. Breakfast had a good selection but you could tell it wasn't high quality food for a place with 'grand' in the name. No cocktail menu slightly annoying.

The room décor was pretty, the staff were kind, the room was clean and had good amenities, including coffee station. Nice atmosphere in the bar in the evening.

WiFi/signal very poor in the room. Lighting not very good. Room was quite dark. View from window of roof next door which for £225 for the night expected better as paid for a prestige room. Expected better as paid for a higher quality room. No heating apart from a small oil heater. Could feel springs in the Mattress, had no protector or topper on.

Convenient location Quiet room Easy check in/out

After checking out on Friday, we had a couple of hours to wait before our flight home. My friends and i were going to wait in hotel Bar, we requested for Tv to be switched on but staff did not allow. We found this very Bizzare

Found the staff at Reception very helpful. We were checked in very quickly which always helps after travelling overseas

The room was VERY small. The housekeeping knocked on our door at 10am when checkout isn't until 12pm, we felt very rushed and felt that this shouldn't be the case if check out isn't until 12pm. It was also very noisy with the outdoor hustle and bustle and even people walking through the corridors. Also thought the hotel was very overpriced for what it was.

The room was cosy, the bed was comfy and the decor was very on trend.

Regretted paying for breakfast. It was so bad for £16.95 hot buffets not fully stocked one choice of eggs bacon was disgusting as for the sausage just don’t even bother one bite that’s all I could manage. Tried the pastry selection after all this never had anything so dry in my life. Just do yourself a favour and save some money go to Wetherspoon and don’t get robbed like I did.

Car park is very difficult and tight. We are not given the proper ticket so when we go to the barrier we weren’t able to come out which was stressful as the carpark was so tight.

Hotel was great and really nice. Got an upgrade from the staff.

We thought the overnight parking fee was quiet a lot of money £17.00 for 24 hours.

The hotel was located in a good position for walking around Bristol. The room was adequate for the purpose of our one night stay. The staff were very helpful.

Parking was a problem no lift tight corners etc and discount attached to wedding party was not applicable to our bill as we missed the window ( Why is there a time restriction to a discount - we were gonna spend £ s in restaurant and bar - so what’s with the refusal to honour the promise you made - we could have gone elsewhere)

The state of the room and carpet, the bath had shoe marks in and looked grubby to the point I didn't really want to the facilities there was hammer marks in the wall let alone the state of the carpark and the buffet breakfast is over priced my room was 242

The car park. I'm a good driver but I'd be pretty sure others got their cars scratched in the super tight ramps in the old car park next door. Lighting in the room was a tad strange..

The breakfast was excellent. Very good full English but was an extra £16.50. Very comfy bed and great shower. Staff were super lovely.

The room itself was fine, didn't feel as big as what was shown on the photos on the website. The bathroom was OK but could do with the decor freshening up.

Check in was smooth – as there was a function on that evening we were offered a room on the top floor to negate any noise disruption, which was appreciated. The parking nearby was really convenient, although you wouldn't want to try fit a big SUV in there.

There was a convention on which would have been good to know at the time of booking as made the hotel quite noisy and busy. The car park, while cheap and handy, was one of the dirtiest car parks I've ever experienced. The lift was out of the order and the stair wells were full of rubbish and pools of urine - had to hold my breath from the sixth floor the smell was so bad. Not a great first impression of the hotel!

Location is great, room comfortable and had everything you could need. Staff all very helpful.

Not much room for hanging clothes, the only hanging space was right over the tea/coffee making facilities. The toilet was positioned far too close to wall.

The location was excellent for our needs. The bed was gigantic. Very nice bar area. Massive bed & very comfortable.

There could have been two armchairs instead of one in a 'double' room. TV was in an odd place - we had to move the one heavy armchair to sit in it to watch. Also there were no in-room instructions on how to operate the heating/air conditioner. Operating the car park entrance etc was not obvious - the signs were not good and I thought the car parking fees were high.

The room was large and comfortable and well equipped. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good. Shower was good and shower gel and shampoo provided as were house coats and slippers.
