How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Honestly everything was great, parking may be an issue on a busy night if I had to be extremely picky
I liked the fact it was close by to Cardiff but far enough out that it was quiet and peaceful, the hole cooked food was excellent and the room was clean and cosy

What did I like? Everything. The staff couldn't be more friendly or welcoming, the room was great and the food was superb. This is a jewel tucked away in the valleys.

The menu choices were wide ranging and the food was absolutely delicious, all freshly cooked and so tasty. The atmosphere in the pub and in the restaurant was warm and cosy and very friendly. All staff were very efficient and helpful. An absolutely superb meal and very good value. The breakfast was excellent. Highly recommend a stay at Gwaelod y Garth

My partner and I had a one night stay and we couldn't have asked for better. On arrival the young lady at the bar and the woman who checked us in were both exceptionally helpful. The room was lovely with the perfect size and temperature but for me it was the fabulous bathroom that sealed the deal! Everything was done with wonderful professionalism and the little touches (proper milk with the tea/coffee things) went a long way to cementing our view that the place was just wonderful. Dinner in their restaurant was lovely and reasonably priced, I'm only sorry that we were too tired to venture down to the pub for a drink because I would have very much liked to. Thank you once again to all the staff who helped us during our stay. This property is a lovely place and for the location (20 mins from central Cardiff) you couldn't ask for better!

Bit slippy in the car park - but you cannot really blame the hotel for snow and ice !
Brilliant fresh cooked brekkies with lovely service and local produce to die for. very friendly and hospitable staff and great choice of real ales - all well kept. Nice quiet hotel room too , as it by the pub so you get the benefits , but dont get the downside of any noise from the bar etc. What a gem !

Very quirky pub with lovely rooms attached. Everyone was very friendly, drink & food excellent. Bedroom view superb, very clean & comfy. Breakfast was ok but the restaurant is lovely. Will definitely be back soon.

The bed was very uncomfortable.
The staff were exceptional and the service they provided was truly 1st class. The size of the room was perfect and the facilities were brilliant. And the breakfast in the morning was delicious

Everything super- nothing to dislike. Only the result of the match against Georgia!
Spectacular place. Excellent genuine Fench food by French chef. Great selection of craft and other beers. Wonderful train connection to go to watch Wales (lose!) at the Milennium.

Excellent home cooked breakfast with plenty of choice and the service what excellent. From the moment we arrived at the inn, we were made to feel very welcome and the staff and service were excellent.
