How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

I personally would prefer filtered coffee at breakfast.
A lovely suprise at the back of the pub, where you will find a lovely outdoor beer garden with a retractable roof, which leads to a lovely breakfast area; breakfast was cooked fresh, with nice products! The room was comfortable & clean & all the staff were friendly & helpful; it was a nice place to stay & would definitely recommend to friends in the future. Well done team 👏

Breakfasts all looked great and service was brilliant, only gripe was no vegan sausages or mushrooms, so a hot breakfast wasn't an option.
Bar was great, staff were great. Really welcoming and room was clean and comfortable. Room could do with better blinds or curtains, as it was on the main street with a lot of street lighting.

Nothing to complain about to be fair. This was not a 5* hotel and neither was the pricing. I would return.
Great value for money. The bed was super comfortable and the bedding crisp/clean. Considering this is a popular pub near and busy railway station, it was pleasingly quiet. I left very early, so missed breakfast. They offer free parking across the street which was a bonus.

There was no hot water. I had to ask and eventually it was sorted. The chef was off so there was no cooked breakfast. However I was the only guest so making a bacon sandwich shouldn't have been difficult to make by anyone else. The room was spacious but the carpet shabby, windows were very dirty and the light switch for the bathroom was inside the room behind the door. I couldn't get the TV to work. Bed was lumpy.
It was convenient for the town centre. Tea and coffee in the room. Bedding was clean.

noting bad to say about it!!
Breakfast was a 10/10 little old lady cooked the best breakfast we have ever had!! my partner alsways says you go a cafe where there is a older lady cooking it will be boss!! she’s done it for years an has got it down to a T!! 😀 also the staff went above an beyond very friendly an accommodated all our needs an more so!! highly recommend rooms clean an what a terrific stay throoually enjoyed it!! been a very good stay quite for a pun!! an will definitely be back in multiple occasions!! can’t say anything bad about this stay!’❤️

Bed was a bit springy on this occasion. No towels upon arrival but they wete replenished when I got back later to use the showrr.
Always a good welcome and this is my 4th visit. Breakfast very tasty and plenty of choice. Good atmosphere in the bar.

One of the best breakfasts at a hotel for a very long time. On a cold morning, very few things beat an egg sunny side up, bacon and mushrooms, cooked to perfection, it cheers me up and boosts my qi for a long day ahead.
