How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

It was a little warm in the bedrooms, but fans were provided.
Super easy to use! Really liked this idea of using the keys.the apartment was beautiful, it had all the facilities, I think my favourite part was the beautiful balcony. Taxis were often so there were no problems getting in to Cardiff and cost roughly £12 each way. Which was nothing when split between us. You couldn’t hear the traffic or neighbours. Will definitely recommend and will stay again in future.

The lift was not working which was not a problem for us but could have been.
Good size lovely and clean, great location in Penarth close to the shops and the nearby amenities. Good to be able to use the gym just below the apartment.

The property is smashing! Beautiful decor, spacious and very clean. It’s a smart home, you access the keys through the phone which was great. It has a well stocked kitchen so I prepared meals. The high street is afew minutes walk so can get to the shops and the train stop is literally behind the apartment. It was brilliant. Loved it!

Sofa could do with an upgrade. Not very comfy!
My youngest loved being by the railway line- although this might not be everyone’s cup of tea! Large shared area, good beds. Good location to reach various attractions by car.

The beds were not over 2m - they were short and there were too few bar stools. It would be great to have a dining table and chairs.
The apartment is in a good spot, is large, esp the living area. The host was very responsive. The apartment was lovely and bright.

Sofa bed may be a good bed but no support as a sofa. There is train noise as track right behind building but if you like an early start, no problem.
Size, quality of fittings.. massive TV real home from home. Ease of access using technology. One small issue fixed immediately when reported.

Slow lift but not bothering us as it was only the first floor. We used the stairs instead.

One small thing - side plates would have been nice :-)
Great location , spacious and comfortable apartment, easy to take the train into Cardiff and short walk to Penarth pier . Key app for access actually very straightforward to use.

We were sometimes disturbed at night by the noise of machines from the 24hr gym downstairs. There was enough crockery and cutlery but minimal equipment for cooking. We didn't like having to use an app to get into the flat.
We liked the lovely bright lounge with plenty of room and we enjoyed a morning cuppa on the balcony. The whole place is very clean and nicely decorated. We appreciated the snacks on arrival! The apartment is really close to the shops and station and it was great to have allocated parking. Communication with the host was super easy.

We had a very great and beautiful moments during our staying in hotel and the unique city of Cardiff. Our hotel was very modern, nice decorated ,clean and so comfortable. We were about 2 weeks with our 3 Kids there .we had there everything to access.our parking garage in hotel was one of the great advantages for us. Too easy to drive in and out. We had so many shops in the near of our hotel. We've visited so many beautiful places as like as Castles, beaches and museums.that was one of our great holidays ever.
