Read the full listing before you book! I didn't and my 6'3" husband found the bed too short. This is my fault entirely, as the owner is clear in the listing but I had booked on price without reading it fully. The bathroom door is extremely narrow, but again, this is referenced in the listing so if you are tall or of a larger build think carefully before staying here.

The main thing that attracted me to stay was the price; it was exceptional value. The property is really quirky and the owners have clearly worked hard to maximise the space Everything was spotless and there are some toiletries and tea, coffee and milk provided which was a really nice touch The owner was also a great host, good clear communication and check in details. If you like staying in unique places, this is one to put on your list!

Pillows rather hard!! Bright light at night from fire exit sign - covered it with a bin bag!

Great location - very convenient for centre of Penzance, ferry, train and bus routes. Comfortable accomodation - bit like staying in an underground caravan! Interesting conversion of a quirky space. Very good value for money.

WiFi was a bit hit and miss but didn't go there to watch TV. No cooking hob as shown in picture but didn't make it a problem. Could do with a larger fridge as it's really only for medication or one can of drink. Had to throw away some food as couldn't keep it chilled.

Definitely nothing like we have ever stayed in before. Compact but enough space for the two of us and the dog. Lovely and warm with the odd drip and banging my head on numerous occasions getting out the bathroom and laughing about it only added to the experience. It was a very enjoyable 4 days.Free Parking on Alexander Road and a 15 minute walk into town was good. Hosts were on the ball with any questions asked, and it was lovely and clean. I'm 6ft and had no problems in the living area. Would definitely recommend just for the experience of living underground .

Bright illuminated exit sign in main room - we covered it with leaflets to block the light during the night. Door to bathroom is very narrow and hard to get in/out of if you’re not v slim - warning to larger guests!

Excellent location to centre of town, bus stop, vineyard. Excellent communication with host. Quirky property!

Though we enjoyed the quirks of the property we sadly experienced quite a bit of damp and condensation, this is a hard one to tackle because the property is underground and, though there is ventilation, it's almost impossible to prevent water from collecting. Ryan had just had the place painted, too, and I think they either used the wrong sort of paint or it just couldn't dry due to how wet it gets so sadly it came off on our clothes as we shimmied down the stairs - it was water based though so it came off no problem! Couple of other bits I know Ryan is addressing, fridge didn't really work at all and our milk etc went off quickly in it, hair dryer seems to overheat but that was a luxury we did fine without :) It's not a 5 star hotel by any means so if you are looking for that you will be disappointed but it is a neat little place to crash while in penzance!

This was a lovely quirky spot right in the middle of penzance, though small it has everything you need for a short trip to cornwall - we stayed for a whole week and took our dogs who seemed happy and comfy when we had to go out without them. If you enjoy an adventure this is the spot for you! Ryan is a great communicator and was always ready to offer help and advice when needed. We really enjoyed our stay though will admit it would probably be suited to those wanting a shorter trip than ours as it has little natural light and is quite compact.

A unique experience. Quirky. Suitable accommodation for "fun size" adults.Stayed for three nights with my mum. I'm 5ft (152cm) and my mum is 5ft2. Definitely not recommended for tall/larger built people or anyone with mobility issues. Very quiet location.Fifteen minute walk to the town centre, bus and train station. There's a pub (Pirate Inn) around the corner. Wi fi was great. Tea and coffee was provided. The spa slippers were very handy. Had everything we needed. Very clean.Great communication from Ryan. A small towel or a bath mat for the bathroom floor would be useful.

People are very curious and stop to look through the front door, a curtain might be worth adding? However there is still privacy and they can't see you as the accommodation is down the stairs.

Very convenient for my stay, as had no transport. Place was well equipped, very clean, good value for money.

It's important to read the desciption and the reviews. There are a few negative points. First of all, I think it's too small for a couple unless only for one night. Getting in and out of the bathroom is difficult as it is so small. I am only 164cm and showering was difficult for me. Also the bathroom floor is kind of always wet and there is this issue with the roof/ceiling: a partial area of the ceiling is leaking when it's raining and the floor might get slippery (I actually fell down once) in the kitchen area. So you have to make sure to put your things where the ceiling is ok. The ventilation system is also very loud, but you can switch it off at night. If you still decide to stay here, you have been warned!

I booked this accomodation because I wanted a private room and to be left alone. And that's actually excatly what I got! So it's easy to find and the room is well equipped and of course it's something interesting/fancy. It's a little bit like staying in a museum/bunker. Maybe as a weekend trip?

Very quirky, well-equipped accommodation in an unusual location. Renovated and decorated very tastefully. Enough headroom for tall people. Great location for town as well as walks - bus station where the Coaster buses leave from a 15 min walk
