Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaCouldn’t fault our stay. Perfect.
Fiona was a gracious host and every detail was perfect. From the beautiful, light, spacious room and en-suite, to the wonderful breakfast she prepared, we loved everything about our stay. Only 10 mins drive from Portree, once seeing how busy the town was we happily grabbed takeaway to eat back at the property in our own sitting area. We cannot recommend staying here highly enough. Forget the busy town centre and escape to a perfect quiet place just short drive area.

Everything! It was amazing, the house has everything, it's on a very quiet place and we can see the sheep's on the land. The breakfast was very rich and it had a lot of options, with fresh ingredients. I more than recommend and hope to return here!

Fiona is so welcoming friendly and kind . The place was immaculate and warm . In a stunning location ❤️🙏 I was relieved to find that Fiona was generous with the heating, and always had a roaring coal fire blazing away which was beautiful . The bathroom was clean with nice towels and shower gel/shampoo and plenty of toilet tissues .

CanadaNothing we loved it there! Highly recommend!
Fiona has beautiful room in her home that she rents out. There is a table and chairs available for our use if you want to bring take out back and a little fridge and microwave as well. She served a good breakfast with lots of choices and made us a packed lunch of the items we didn't eat for breakfast that we enjoyed on our days of sight seeing. Her sandwiches are the best! The location is quite central in Skye and made it easy to travel to the different areas of the island. Portree is about five minutes away if you want to go out for a meal. Fiona also was good at sharing places to see in her area and had different sight seeing brochures and maps for us to look at.

GermanyThere was actually nothing that I did not like.
Nice room and en-suite bathroom. The host, Fiona, was very friendly and provided a solid continental breakfast. I also liked the remote location a little outside Portree, even though you need a car to get to town for dinner.

United StatesThe host was the best. Road construction made us a little late, but she greeted us with grace. This was the cleanest I've ever seen, with excellent beds and bathroom. Tigh A Raoin is beautiful. She made us a perfect breakfast, plus packed the leftovers into some of the best sandwiches! Thanks Fiona!

Wonderful host by Fiona. The room is not only super clean and tidy, it gives you a "home" feel. Very comfortable and spotless house with a beautiful view. Great location. A short distance away from Portree city centre and easy to access all locations on the island. Amazing breakfast and Fiona even prepared a lunch box from the leftovers for us. Highly recommend.

AustraliaNothing comes to mind, everything was excellent.
We had a wonderful stay at Fiona's, the location is beautiful and the breakfast was amazing! Fiona went above and beyond to provide vegan options for us, and even let us take the leftovers on the road which was much appreciated. Her house is gorgeous and we loved relaxing by the fire with a cup of tea. I'd highly recommend Fiona's place for an unforgettable Isle of Skye visit.

United KingdomFiona is a very caring person and treated us very well. After we returned from a wet hike, she gave us a rack to dry our clothes and even made us a packed lunch for our next hike. We always returned to a comfortable and cleaned room each day. We also had a grate laugh feeding bread to Ella the black sheep and taking photos with the highland cows.

United KingdomThe house is well designed and the quality of the furnishings and decoration was excellent. There are facilities for making light meals - a small fridge freezer and microwave - and and small table and chairs beside the window with nice views. Fiona made a very nice breakfast and also made us a nice packed lunch with fruit, cheese , biscuits, pancakes and sandwiches. We would highly recommend Tigh A Raoin.

BelgiumFor us it was perfect, but if you want a stay in the middle of big village/city, this is probably not for you... But hey, you come to Skye for peace and quietness... you can go to Edinburgh for lots of people and city noise!!!
Tigh A Raoin is a nice quiet B&B, away from the main road in a little village a few miles nord of Portree. The room was spacious, very clean and equipped with everything you could ask for. The breakfast was really nice!!! And thanks again for the lunch packets made from the breakfast leftovers...
