How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The sofa bed was not comfy to sit on, lack of seating in the lounge area , really needed another chair in there.
House was very clean and well equipped. Really nice to have, towles and everything else you need in the kitchen Beds comfortable. Very close to city centre. Liked the off street parking.

We had difficulty trying to locate the property. Our Uber driver abandoned us at unit #01, and we had to search and walk all the way to Hafod House, which was un-numbered. Perhaps Propery can inform their future tenants that Haford House is located right after unit 38 on Haford Street.
Well equipped, spacious, and clean. Host even provided a packet of Welse cakes, which served as our breakfast for a few days. The instruction manual is clear.

Only thing, and I think it was just forgotten on this trip, note to place recycling out in green bin under sink, but couldn’t find it, so brought it home with us. Also two different check out times. Just check details in house and those online all match. But it was all good.
Very convenient to the city centre. Clean and tidy with everything we needed. The owner was good at keeping us informed prior to our visit. Will come back again.

The mattress In the master bedroom dipped in the middle making it not the most comfortable. The area the property is located in is very central but seemed a little run down.
A very nice modern property about a 10 minute walk to Cardiff with good driveway parking.

Perfect location. Walking distance to city centre, castle etc. Lovely comfortable house. It says parking for a small/medium car. We have a large car and it just fit in ok.

House was a bit cold when we arrived but did heat up when we turned on the radiators. Minor point, overall we would definitely recommend it and definitely would stay again at this lovely cosy home.
Brilliant location very short walk to the city centre. Free off-street parking extremely beneficial as it is so close to the city centre. Comfortable beds. Good downstairs layout with combined kitchen/living space and dining area. All mod cons. Host was a delight to work with.

The address was problematic when trying to book a taxi -- taxi company software did not accept it. We gave up and looked for a taxi rank.
Proximity to city centre was good, so it was a walkable location. The city centre is loud and busy. Though we were fairly close to it, the location was quiet and calm. The flat was well-appointed and comfortable. If we still had our rented car, there was off street parking -- a plus in Cardiff.

superb location - literally 5 minute walk to the principality stadium and hence the centre of Cardiff. Quite a “quirky” property it was clean and well equipped Great that it had its own car parking space - saved the hassle of finding alternative parking during a very busy concert weekend
