Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAs a driving enthusiast, I can say roads in the area not in the best condition in terms of quality , speed and design, but this is not the host's fault at all - And the government says it's not theirs either - they claim they can't afford to upgrade them - after ll they are "only" getting 40 percent income tax from their citizens
Excellent cottage - Very cosy and modern with large open plan living dining area with super comfy sofa , TV , office desk and kitchen facilities, Peaceful semi rural location, with llamas (forgot their actual name : ) ) We had a special requirement which many hosts in the UK make a big fuss about yet this host was very easy about it. Rooms were very comfortable as was the bath and shower Overall it was a fantastic experience, clean, modern, well painted , stylish and really value for money - I highly recommend it

United KingdomThe only thing would be the lack of a window in the main bedroom as the French doors go into the bathroom (where there is a window), not a big problem, but nice to have
The location was excellent. The cottage is comfortable and peaceful and has everything you need for a short stay

United KingdomSignpost at the main road would help location but GPS Location we had was accurate. Though can comfortably hold 4 persons, the shared bathroom meant we also booked the adjoining cottage for better privacy, which was fine for our family.
The location was lovely. The larger of the two cottages and was more than adequate for the 2 family members staying. We use this cottage for family and we were in the adjoining cottage and this provided a better Kitchen/Dining environment. The Beds, I gather, were fine, as was the Bathroom. The Alpacas, in the field, were charming and the Kids Playground looked amazing! WIFI was v.good, shared with the next door cottage and the large TV with soundbar and living room area seats was comfortable.

United KingdomNothing really.
The cottage is idyllic as the pictures but functional so you have everything you need. It was helped by glorious weather. We were here for a nearby wedding but it was so peaceful here it felt like a break and rest for us too. Plus, our toddler adored the swings as trampoline so much I now want to demand this everywhere we stay. She was so happy, and a happy toddler makes for happy parents

The stay was great and it's a nice little place at a great location. My son (7 year old) really enjoyed the play area with swings and large trampoline. There were 3 alpacas onsite as well which made it feel more like staying closer to nature. The house itself was nice and cosy. The only minor issue we encountered, was that the Frying Pans (there were 2) were not really usable with scratch/scuff marks but upon raising this with Andy, this was very quickly resolved and he provided us with another one. Would definitely stay again if we visit that side again.

United KingdomI think it had been a while since anyone else had rented the cottage as the cutlery and utensils/saucepans needed a good wash before we could use them (no dishwasher). The arrangement of having a glass door between the double bedroom and bathroom was not very practical if you had 2 couples sharing - it really is more for families. The parking space is very tight for turning round. We have a Kadjar and really a smaller car would have been better for the turning space. A sign on the main road would have helped in locating the lane. Bits are showing signs of wear and tear and the accommodation could do with a bit of freshen up. The oven instructions were missing and the bulb in the overhead light in the twin room didn't work (we didn't use this room so it didn't really matter to us)
This was a very central location and the accommodation was very well equipped and comfortable. It was walkable into Gloucester with a bus service back from the war memorial at the end of the lane. One pub at the end of the lane (not open Sun - Weds lunchtime when we were there) served good food. The heating was extremely effective and the underfloor in the bathroom was very welcome.
