Noise from the bar downstairs was particularly bad however it was over the Easter period and Caernarfon is known for their lively revellers. Didn’t detract from an enjoyable stay.

Central location, views, clean and tidy.

Needs to be made clear it is a busy pub and not a hotel,

On the site looked like an hotel this is a room in a pub. It was very lively to be fair the landlady told us it would be loud until 2am and it was very loud. Room was comfortable but needs a better heater

Had the room been clean and tidy, I would have given a 10. As it contained everything needed for a nights stay.

Upon arrival host hadn’t realised I was staying/didn’t know he had somebody booked in (myself). This explains the following; Entering the room I noticed the bed seemed messy as though somebody had recently stayed in it. Used towel on the chair and another used damp towel on the back of bathroom door, fortunately there was one unused towel for myself. Bin was full of previous nights rubbish along with bin bag of rubbish next to it. Used tissue in toilet and toilet not flushed.

Above a bar/restaurant, couldn’t hear any noise coming from the bar/restaurant which was a great start!

We had not TV. Could only get Radio Station. Asked staff to check. Could not get TV stations either. Said she would have to report it in morning to the Manager. So spent all night with no TV.

We had a large bedroom which was comfortable and cosy. And the location! It’s right next to the castle. We were only here for a night so didn’t experience too much of what the town had to offer.

The shower went cold fairly quickly. The tv signal wasn't great. The noise from downstairs... which can't be helped and is described when booking.

The staff were lovely. The location was great. It had everything you needed for a night.

Unfortunately, the loud music from the bar went on into the early hours of the morning and it was difficult to fall asleep. There are no facilities for breakfast.

It is very centrally positioned right in the middle of the city centre with a pay and display car park a walking distance away. The room was spacious enough and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was welcoming and friendly.

Noise from neighbouring establishments but that is not the fault of Y Castell

The bathroom was a little outdated and could have been a little cleaner. For the price we paid for the room, it would have perhaps been nice for breakfast or something similar to have been included. The noise from the street into the room was unavoidable, but because the rooms were situated so close together, you could hear talking and the slamming of doors as people walked about on the landing.

The location of the accommodation was very central. The room was a good size and pleasantly decorated. The lady helping us was happy for us to drop our bags off earlier, despite us checking in later. She was also friendly.

It was karaoke night downstairs, and the noise made it difficult to fall asleep until quite late.

The proprietor was very helpful and accommodating when a booking error meant only one of our two rooms was available. The location was extremely convenient to the castle and the old town.

This hotel has absolutely NO food. No restaurant or breakfast. The advertising is misleading. Luckily, there are multiple coffee shops close by. Downside...they don't open until 9:00 a.m. So, if you are in need of an early morning meal you are out of luck. Another issue is that NO staff are in the hotel overnight. This was not explained to us upon check-in so we did not know how to check-out the next morning. The only option we had was to drop our room keys thru the letterbox of the pub. You will not be provided a check-out receipt because there are no staff on the premises (this was at 9:00 a.m.).

The location is fantastic. Located right next to the castle and only a few yards from multiple restaurants and pubs. There is no parking at the hotel; however, there is a large public carpark directly behind the hotel that only charges £6.00+ for 24htr parking. What a deal!

The decor in the room was a little "tired" and the room was not particularly spacious - but it was clean!

Central location was great. We thought there may have been noise from the bar or from other nearby establishments, but we found our 2nd floor room to be pretty quiet.
