It was very comfortable and clean, and will worth the money. As I have come to York on serval occasions, it was far the best and is perfect for someone travelling alone. I am going back again in April.

The room is warm but tiny. If you bring a lot of luggage, consider the other room of Becky's.

The neighborhood is quiet and pretty. Becky is always warm-hearted and really have a good conversation with her.

The bus ride may seem like a negative if you're used to driving to the corner shop like me, but the bus was quite convenient and drops you at the city centre.It saved me the 5-hour drive and the trouble of finding parking in a very busy, historic city.

This was my first time at a home stay and I would do it again. My room was on the second floor with my own bathroom, private and quite separated. This property is kept impeccably clean, it's modern and has a nice design. The room had a microwave, a kettle and a mini fridge, the bathroom had a lovely walk-in shower and you get toiletries, no need to carry heavy bottles with you. There is a small TV with on-demand channels too. The owner is a lovely lady, very helpful with all questions. The city centre is a 20-minute bus drive away, the bus stop is a 2-minute walk from the house. You come and go when you please. I felt like staying at a boutique hotel without the hefty price tag, I would definitely recommend this place!

I couldnt figure out the heater in the bedroom, I could have contacted the owner to ask but was nightshift so just wanted to get to bed!

Great communication from the owner. I didn't actually meet anyone from the property. single loft room with bed, dressing table, mini fridge and microwave.

Not a criticism of the property, but on my 2 day stay and 2 return journeys to centre, bus 5 failed to turn up on two out of four occasions, leaving a long wait on the half hour service (service run by First Group so no surprise)

Real homestay in a suburban house in a quiet residential road, ran by a lovely helpful lady, together with her young son and little dog. Room is on top (2nd) floor, and is sparkling clean, fresh and comfortable. Excellent shower, WiFi, and multi channel television. Bathroom is shared with only one other room.. Coffee and tea provided. Bus service 5 to City Centre some 4km (2.5 miles) distant is only a two minute walk away, and a Co-op shop a minute further. Green Tree pub with Sky Sports 5 minutes away. Easy car parking outside the property.

I have a fractured spine which Becky did not know about. I need hard mattresses which, while the mattress was, it was not hard enough for me. I am sure if I had discussed it with her, she would have fixed it. She is that sort of woman.

Becky is a lovely woman who makes every effort to accommodate all your needs. For example, she waited 30 minutes in for me to arrive so she could show me round and give me a key. Similarly, she left the hall light on for my return.

The location is on the outskirts of York, but York is not too big.

It was an affordable stay at a very friendly hostess. Everything was arranged as agreed and as expected. Bed was comfortable. The room is great for shorter stays.

For me it was fine, but the stairs are tight to the 3rd level.

It was in a leafy middle class suburb of York with lots of local families - it was nice to be in the mix of local people rather than being surrounded by tourists. The host was lovely and I was able to park my hire car on the street out front. The 5/5A bus to the city centre was only 3 minutes walk and I used that service because of the lack of parking in York.
