How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The room was exceptionally small. It would be fine for a person on their own with not much luggage, but very tight for two people.
The Hotel room was far smaller than anticipated, and not ideal for sharing with a colleague as we both had luggage which we barely had space to store in the room. The room was clean, and functional but at £300 for a night, it was exceptionally expensive for what it was. The staff were friendly and helpful. We did not eat there, but we did have a drink in the bar, which was perfectly pleasant.

THe room is really quite small, and although I knew that when I booked, it was still quite a tight squeeze. I needed an ironing board and it barely fit in the room.
Lovely entrance reception and bar area. Great wine and cheese night. Friendly staff and the location was truly excellent, I Was there for work and needed to be in Holborn.

I had a pizza in the bar the night of my arrival - it wasn’t the best but just my own taste.
Good central location, small rooms but with everything you need. Ideal for solo travellers.

It's a little expensive, but you're paying for the location more than anything, which in London comes at a premium. The room was comfortable for a solo traveller, but you might be pushed with a couple of space.
The hotel is in a good location, with easy access to shops, restaurants and public transport. The rooms are pretty small, but very functional. Everything was clean, neat and check-in was easy and friendly. Overall a good place to stay.

Small rooms, but that was expected
The rooms were small, but had everything we needed. They were clean and freshened up every day of the stay. The location was perfect and the staff was wonderful. We took the Tube or bus everywhere and walked to many places.

I know rooms are small but could do with a little more storage.
Excellent location. Suits your needs for a stop over, got upgraded to a queen room which was very nice.

Mattress on the bed was a little bit bent towards the center. One evening half of TV programs didn't work. But these are minor things which didn't really bother us much.
Location is great - close to British Museum, Piccadilly Circus. Few minutes to city center by underground. Room was quiet and clean. Personal was friendly and helpful.

Size of room was the tiniest I have ever known - the bed filled the floor - no chair provided - toilet and shower in glass cubicle - had window onto brick wall
Free cheese and one glass of wine on some nights - towels and bedding were great

I think would be really necessary to update the hotel plugs to USB-C so that people from Europe don't have to travel with an UK adapter as this feels kinda not from this time (2024)...doesn't have to be everywhere of course but either in the lobby or the room to give guests the possibility to charge their phones with their personal charger

The room was very cosy, would never comfortably fit 2 people just because of how you get in the bed. Small opening and would have to climb over the face of the person sleeping closest to the gap. But I was a single traveller so this wasn’t a problem for me

None of these things were big issues for us, but if you are claustrophobic you might request a room above ground, as some of the basement rooms don't have windows. Also, the bathroom doors are tinted glass so felt a bit exposed! Not sure if I'd bother with the breakfast. Still an amazing hotel and would definitely stay again.
Loved this hotel. Perfect location, bargain price and really sleek and modern. They went out of their way to make our daughter feel special on her birthday.
