Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FinlandI have to say that the service given by the owners was exceptional. Most probably the best I have ever experienced. If visiting Cavtat again, will most definitely choose Castelletto as the place where to stay!

The sunbeds were great to chill out on with great views. We will definitely return as it was a perfect place for us.

United KingdomThe unfortunate aircraft noise of incoming flights which was to be expected with the airport nearby but this still didn't spoil our stay.

United KingdomWalking difficulties? Probably too many steps for you
This place is a joy to stay in overlooking the beautiful bay of Cavtat. Christina is an exceptionally fine host and the standard of cleanliness throughout the building should be applauded. Fancy a drink? There's even a well stocked 'honesty bar'! Breakfasts are top notch and transfers to and from the airport are included too. This is a quality hotel and fabulous value for money.

United KingdomHaving to go home. Croatia and Cavtat are beautiful.
We felt very at home in this little hotel. The couple who own it were really friendly as was the lovely lady who helps with breakfast, and they offered lots of guidance on what to see in the area, and how to get there. (Ask about visiting Kupari. Fascinating!) If you are interested in planes you will love it as they come in to land at Dubrovnik over the bay of Cavtat. Download the flight radar app and you will be able to see what's coming and where from. The hotel is located on a hill just above the centre of Cavtat so you will need to be averagely mobile, but the exercise makes you feel good! It is situated at the end of a tiny quiet road, with safe parking outside, and the bus stop to Dubrovnik at the end. This bus also goes down the hill so if you really struggle you could use the bus....but honestly it's not far!! Our room had a fridge and a kettle so as a tea addict I was happy. We also had a large balcony with chairs , with a good view of the sky for the thrilling thunderstorm we had, and the planes we were spotting! Breakfast was help yourself with hot fried eggs, bacon, sausage, cereals and pastries, eaten on the little terrace by the pool. Excellent coffee. The electricity tripped out several times while we were there, but apart from the morning after the storm when the owners had to make breakfast by candlelight, it was quickly restored. There were several concorde shaped flies on the walls of the bathroom, I looked them up and they are harmless drain flies so we continued to share the bathroom in harmony. In the lounge all the bottles of shampoo, suntan lotion,, water shoes, snorkels, books, etc that guests have left behind are available for other guests to use.

United StatesSince the area is on a hill the b&b has lots of levels with stone steps. Not a problem for me but not very handicap accessible. Don’t let this be a drawback!
Very comfortable and walking distance to harbor. Easy bus or boat to Dubrovnik. Breakfast offering were varied and covered all hot and cold options. Includes pick up at airport

Exactly as described. We had a standard room as booked (balcony rooms were already booked). No issues at all, the room was clean and comfortable and the shower was really powerful. There are so many nice areas to sit and relax around the property, we didn’t miss having our own outdoor space. We loved the honesty bar and enjoyed chatting to fellow guests over a glass of wine. Kristina and Dean (owners) were the perfect hosts. Dean picked us up (and dropped us off) from the airport and Kristina helped us arrange our day out in Montenegro as well as giving lots of advice on getting to and from Dubrovnik. The location was perfect, 8 minute walk to the port and a bit longer back as it’s up hill. There is a regular bus but we mostly walked up as it wasn’t too far and a good way of burning off lunch or dinner. The nearest restaurant (2 min walk) called By The Way was simple but good food at a great price. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. If we go back to Cavtat, we wouldn’t stay anywhere else!

United KingdomEverything was great with the hotel. The only issue we had (not hotel related) was the mosquitoes. We were in a party of 34 dotted around Cavtat and every one of us suffered with bites despite using very strong insect repellant!
What can I say... this hotel is amongst one of the best we have stayed in. Dean and Kristina are the most generous hosts and nothing is too much trouble. The hotel is an 8 minute walk from the centre of Cavtat (downhill) and if you don't fancy the trek uphill the bus from the centre goes every 30 minutes and the stop is just across the road from the hotel. We booked the deluxe room with sea view (stunning) which is on the 3rd floor. The amenities are brilliant, the breakfast plentiful and the honesty bar a great idea. If we return to Cavtat we will not hesitate to book this hotel again.

PortugalPerfect place. Wonderful hosts. One of the cleanest rooms I have seen. We were able to use the shower and toilets after check out time which gave us 2 more hours to go swimming. The bedroom was fresh and we didn't need to use the Air conditioning because the room temperature was ideal. The rooms were not carpeted which is great for people that suffer alergies. They offer towels and shampoo and other stuff for free. All in all, just WONDERFUL.
