Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BrazilI thought my booking was for a private pool but the pool was just the hotel pool closer to the room.
Very nice big room with coffee facilities and free water. Bathroom also big and beautiful. We had ocean and pool view that we enjoyed a lot. You can go on the rooftop and watch an amazing sunrise. Staff was really friendly. Bar next door has an amazing live music we could enjoy with the sunset. Highly recommended!

Everything about this place was fantastic. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The property is beautiful and has the most amazing views during the day and the sunsets are stunning. The room was big comfortable and immaculately clean and had stunning views. The pool area provides shaded area to relax and is just steps away from the Ocean where you can snorkel right in front of the property. One of the best overall combination of Staff, Location and facilities of anywhere I've stayed before. I'm already thinking of coming back.

AustraliaWe can't think of anything.
The beautiful "Pool room" we were staying in at Amed Beach Villas. There is a gorgeous infinity pool RIGHT outside our doors, that has magnificent, uninterrupted views of the sea beyond. At the back of this beautifully landscaped and tastefully decorated property, you only need take about 20 paces and your can step into the sea of coral reefs and a myriad of colourful fish. You can snorkel or scuba dive as you choose, for as long as you want. And there are many places that hold training sessions in both practices who will take you on Jukungs, (a traditional Balinese boat) or fast, larger speed boats to go to diving and snorkelling to areas of great beauty to enjoy. The staff at Amed Beach Villas are lovely, friendly Balinese people who very much enjoy their work days and were always kind to us and happy to chat with us and made us feel very welcome. There are many many inexpensive and totally delicious "warrung" (cafes, restaurants) and bars all within easy walking distance from these very conveniently located villas. The owner David and partner Maggie were very happy to help us to get around and visit some different sites around Bali like the Tirta Kanga Watergardens, -absolutely stunning, and the Heavenly Gate and Temple- Majestic. These car journeys were cheerfully sorted by David, to take us to these special locations with our friendly driver, Gede, a local, who kindly shared his home knowledge as he drove us through very lush deep green forests, flourishing rice terraces, corn and onion crops, small villages, markets and farms and gently drove through the very scenic mountain roads to Lake Batur. There we got to enjoy the relaxing, natural hotspring pools with stunning views all around Batur Mountain for 3 or so blissful hours! This was all so unexpectedly wonderful, we thought to just relax and possibly swim.

SingaporeWe loved our stay in Amed Beach Villa!! The location with the view on the volcano and beach is stunning. From early morning till sunset it is beautiful, from both the room / balcony as rooftop. The room is very spacious and nicely decorated. The bed was really big and comfortable and the table on the balcony perfect for breakfast. The staff is also very friendly and hospitable. They helped us to arrange a driver a few times who spoke very well English and drove very safe. We used the driver to just go to a Warung in the area but also to drive us to Ubud, which was our next stay and we were able to have a couple of nice stops on the way. We stayed here with a baby (9 months) and that was also very enjoyable. We also really liked the pool. It is not big but all you need, good temperature of the water and with a view on the beach. It is a small hotel with only 5 (?) rooms so the service is very personal and sufficient beds at the pool. We also went snorkeling in front of the hotel (right at the beach) which was beautiful, any colourful fish and we borrowed the snorkeling gear from the hotel. We really enjoyed the laid back vibe in Amed, the beautiful views, very friendly people and delicious food.

IndonesiaThere was some miscommunication about the airport transfer on our arrival, but Kadek quickly resolved it for us. The life vest jacket and snorkel equipments were a little bit old even though we can still use it. If they can upgrade those, it will be amazing!
We love the room and the view from rooftop (best view in Amed)! The room was spacious with good air-conditioning. We also love the simple breakfast provided by Kadek. It was delicious! Two-thumbs up for Kadek who assisted us very well since our arrival. She is very polite and insightful about Amed area and spots for snorkel. We had a great time! The location is also near to several restaurant and cafes which can be reached on foot (incase you can't ride a scooter).

BelarusOur room was on the first floor with one window to the pool and common territory - feels not very intimate. Breakfast was small and not tasty. The fan on the terrace didn't work.
The location and the view are just excellent. The hotel beach is the cleanest part of the Amed beach that we saw. Perfect for snorkeling (the hotel provides equipment). Great for relaxing.

United KingdomDid not feel clean. Towels were dirty and grime in sink/toiler on arrival. No water in room on arrival. TV in a really odd position, high up on wall not that I used it. Bathroom ventilation lacking, very hot. Cheap shampoo/conditioner. Roadworks going on during my stay right outside the hotel between 9-5. The owner did warn me about this. Road in Amed undergoing a huge renovation, out of hotels control. Didnt bother me too much as I was out most of the day but not the one if you plan to spend more time at the hotel I imagine the top reviews are for the location rathwe than the amenities. Too expensive for the price vs other places in the area.
The location was great. Right on the beach where you can snorkel using the hotels free snorkel gear. Saw a turtle here. Next to Warung bobo and seating area to watch sunset. Live band plays here, cool ambience. Also near cool eating places like cafe Rimba etc. Possible but harder to get around without a motorbike
