Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe property was perfect, just a word of warning that Tocco can be a bit challenging to navigate in a car. If a road looks like you shouldn’t use it, trust your instincts, not Apple Maps.
Nice and relaxed B&B in the centre of Tocco; Luigi was very helpful in getting us settled in.

United StatesNo taxi from the train station. We did get a ride from a gentleman which was memorable because of his graciousness.
The owner was very involved making sure our needs were met. The village is small and quaint next to a national park. Classic Italian village where everyone knows the kids and watches out for them. Also the national pickleball courts are a short walk away.

NetherlandsOur stay at Casa Di Tocco was wonderful. Although the owner Luigi didn't speak a lot of English, nor we Italian, the things we didn't manage could be communicated using translation apps. We would also like to note that the host went the extra mile to also accommodate our little one of 9 months old. All in all, a wonderful stay in Tocco and very happy we went there.

Perfect location in a cosy little village. Room very clean and tidy. Breakfast was a bit on the sweet side, but I guess it is just us Danes preferring some cheese and solid bread :-)

United StatesAt first we were unsure of how we felt regarding other guest also staying in the apartment. Four young men arrived shortly after us and we were concerned about noise etc. They were perfect guests for a B&B. The only time we saw them was when they entered the home and walked up to their rooms. Our problem for prejudging the situation. Plus all bedroom doors locked.
The house was beautiful and incredibly maintained. The location was a quiet and friendly village. We felt very comfortable in this house. Since we were tired we decided to find a little grocery store and bring food back to cook. Af first we felt like people looked at us suspiciously but we learned it was more curiosity. When we went into the markets, the keepers were so friendly and tried so hard to speak English to us. Great experience! So much history in that little area. We enjoyed walking around the village. Parking was very easy. Luigi, the host, dropped in several times to see if we needed anything but he did not stay at the apartment.

United KingdomThe room was lovely, clean and had a great view of the town. A special shout out to the owner as he went beyond the normal service by very kindly driving us to the train station early in the morning to ensure we didn't miss our train. And we did catch the train on time :-)

United StatesReally, nothing.
It's one of those small "sleeper" B&B's on a nondescript street in Italy. The owner has gone too much, and effective, work to make it nice, which it is. Wonderful living room with TV, plush/deep chairs, and a contiguous kitchen that rivals any we have encountered over the years. Owner also personally involved with olive oil production. Great personal tour of what they do and how they do it. A nice bonus.

Australiaoutside the main tourist season the town has few options for people without cars. But I did learn to love the fact that I was one of the few tourists. I felt valued and learnt more of local life.
The wonderful views of the mountains and town, the warm and helpful staff and the variety of offerings for breakfast.

United StatesThe beds could be more comfortable, and the bathrooms are not ensuite, but for this price you can't get a better deal. You can't do better at this price point.
Casa di Tocco is a fantastic value, and a wonderful place to stay if you're visiting Tocco and the surround region. It's very comfortable, with a large, inviting kitchen and lots of coffee and food for breakfast, good-sized rooms, and good wifi. Very good bathrooms (good water pressure!) also.
