How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The courtyard and garden were a great place to relax and unwind, the hostel was also in a great location walking distance to everything.

Only thing that I could say was there’s no curtains, so very light until very late and light very early, and also one pillow. Other than that I had a good stay

I was a bit cold in Venice at that time, and the room was cold during some of the day. The heat didn't come on.
The location is awesome. Within walking distance from the train station, and in a very nice neighborhood.

People snored, unfortunately I didn't take earplugs 😭 other than that, a little bit of mold over the shower.
Beautifully located place, in the ruins of old church. Great garden and nice, helpful stuff.

The bunk beds were very unstable, impossible not to wake up your neighbor.
Very clean Hostel in a beautiful Building with an even more beautiful garden.

Located fairly far from train station, bridges and narrow streets, a struggle especially if you have luggage but it's Venice so expected. Room shared among 7 people so I won't suggest staying more than one night. Public spaces were nice and clean.

Facility was located in an island which is being used only by hostel. Room was wide and comfortable. Bathroom was inside room and Bathroom was enough and clean. There was no breakfast but kitchen was always ready for our needs.

The room was dusty and dark. There wasn't any good lighting in it.
The yard, the greenery that is missing in most of Venezia you are nof missing it here. The room was spacious. The common area was well prepared with coffee and everything you need to make yourself some food.

I was sleeping in a double bed, on the upper bed. As the beds aren’t fixed to the wall, they were extremely moving when one of the people was moving even a little bit. Made the sleep very difficult. Either the beds should be fixed on the wall or better bed quality is needed. Would have been nice to have some curtains around the beds to have some privacy.
Location was perfect, in the middle of a very very nice neighborhood full of nice restaurants and bars. The rooms and bed were clean. It was nice to have a big kitchen to cook and that the pastas were free. The staff were very helpful and nice. Would definitely recommend it! Glad I chose this hostel for my stay.

The door to the room would sometimes get stuck and then make noise.
Extremely nice place in former chapel, position a bit off the main crowds with nearby bars that don’t cater only to the turists but still not far from the main road to St. Marco. Common room and fully equipped kitchen.

Not super sociable. Definitely could be more things to do, but it was also the off season.
Nice and quiet, the kitchen facilities were amazing and the hostel was clean. The building is an old castle on the canal so super cute.

The shower cubicle is very small about 90cm x 90cm. Very hard to get in and out. Another negative is the shower water pressure is very low. You'll have to stand under the shower for longer to have a decent chance of cleaning yourself. Lastly, check in only open from 1pm to 8pm. So if you arrive at 10pm you're screwed because there's no one to check you in and give you access to your bedroom.
The place is clean, well maintained and is in a quiet part of Venice. There's a small yard for you to sit and relax from the hustle and bustle of Venice. In the bedroom you're assigned a locker to store your personal belongings. Big enough for a suitcase and laptop bag.
