Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe only downside for me was that if you open a window you get mosquitos inside and can’t normally sleep, if you don’t open a window - you wake up with a migraine (which is a case for me) because there’s no oxygen in the bedroom. So I had to choose every evening either interrupted sleep or a migraine. May be installing nets would be a good idea.
The apartment was good and I felt comfortable there. But the highlight of my stay was support I was wrapped in by Leonardo and Federico! Right after my flight Leonardo texted and asked if I need any help with navigation to the hotel, then he told me everything and more about where to go/eat/what to see, helped me to bring my luggage to the apartment. They checked if everything was ok everyday. And also I had a late check out which gave me a chance to have a slow and nice breakfast. There are myriad of hotels with nice/kind stuff but this kind of attention I experienced for the first time. In the cities like Venice (Paris/London etc) where there are millions of tourists every year you sometimes meet indifference like “they will come anyway why would I bother”, this is why I very much appreciate Leonardo and Federico’s attitude. They were friendly yet VERY professional! It’s a rare thing and I enjoyed my stay there! Thank you Leonardo and Federico!!!

RomaniaIt is close to the city centre and that helps a lot event you want to go to restaurants or visit places or just go shopping at the local grocery store. The rooms are nice and the hotel staff are great, they're always very friendly and helping.

New ZealandNothing! It was ideal.
It was very clean and Leonardo and the team are amazing. Beautiful welcome drink, good advice and recommendations for restaurants and they even arranged an earlier breakfast for us. Plus they changed our stay dates with only 2 days notice.

BelgiumThe room was a bit locked in and somewhat more difficult to ventilate. That was about the only minus.
The staff at the hotel are super friendly, and helpful. We've got tons of interesting tips about visits, restaurants, etc... . The hotel is perfectly located at the centre of Venice and easily reachable by vaporetto (best exit Rialto). The rooms were squeaky clean.

United KingdomNothing our stay was lovely !
Relais Venezia is perfectly located for all the highlights of Venice . Our room was beautiful and it was lovely to have the bath and shower ! Staff were amazing and extremely helpful . If travelling with heavy luggage I would highly recommend using the hotels recommended water taxi service as it picks you up from the airport and drops you directly at the hotel which for us was well worth paying for . We visited lake Garda and Burano on our 4 day stay using the train and public water bus , very easy and again would recommend going a bit further to explore :)

EstoniaBreakfast was good, but you have to make a order what are you planning to eat in the evening before and also what time do you eat. As it was vacation, little bit difficult to arrive on right time, but nobody complained about being late and we got our food. But in the other hand I understand that policy, dining area is quite small.
Location is very good, between Rialto and San Marco. Room was also OK, with bath we enjoyed. Many thanks for Federico and Leonardo being so attentive, they sent us restaurant recommendations and everything else we asked for.

SwitzerlandNothing to complain about!
We booked for four days over New Year's Eve and were very well looked after by Leonardo and his brother Federico from the very first second and at all times. The hotel is just a few minutes' walk from St. Mark's Square. The water cab takes you right to the hotel door! The hotel has just been renovated in recent years - we had a very nice room. Breakfast is included in the price; you choose what you would like on arrival. Everything is freshly prepared by Elena, who serves breakfast personally in the small, beautiful lounge on the 1st floor. Leonardo and Federico provide you with their restaurant and sightseeing recommendations, help you book a water cab, etc. We felt very comfortable and do highly recommend this small, pretty oasis to anyone. We will be back!

The staff were excellent, extremely well prepared with great suggestions for dining and sight seeing. Very attentive to specific requirements and also very responsive to questions. One of the best experiences I’ve had in a hotel in a long time as far as service goes. A truly relaxing getaway.
