The hotel is beautiful, clean, and, in my opinion, spacious for Tokyo. All of the staff was kind, smiling, and helpful. I love the tea theme and the fact they have daily tea service for free at the counter. I did find the bed on the hard side, but coupled with the cloud-like duvet, my husband and I felt it was extremely comfortable and got the best sleep of the trip there. Tokyo Tower is a short walk away, and we greatly enjoyed walking through Shimbashi to the station. We would love to stay here again when we return.

This is a wonderful boutique hotel in a highly accessible area, just blocks from a very busy mass transit station and also from on the Japan's top medical schools. In our case that was very convenient for an unplanned visit to the their very capable emergency room. The hotel seems to attract a lot of back packers and more adventurous tourists, which gives it a unique vibe. The staff has excellent English and are extremely helpful. The breakfast buffet was well worth the price.

Excellent choice. Location is great, close to the subway station but in a calm area. Many dining options around. The staff is very friendly and the hotel facilities are outstanding. Highly Recommend, very good value for money.

outstanding hotel with super nice staff, comfortable and well thought out rooms. they had great green tea cosmetics and teas to drink in your room. breakfast was delicious and healthy with many protein options, true blackout shades for the room, firm and very comfortable bed. the staff was helpful and kind and spoke good English and the little cafe downstairs made great matcha lattes. the window in the room opened for fresh air which I loved and also had an air purifier.

For those who haven’t been to Japan before, the bed is on the hard side.

Very clean, much bigger than expected and staff were fantastic. The nice touches such as the free tea at the bar til 10pm and excellent room cleaning meant the value for money was exceptional.

I loved the room, the view, the facilities, everything is amazing! The breakfast was delicious, one of the best I ever had with such a fantastic selection. The staff is very helpful and super nice. I thoroughly recommend this hotel to everyone staying in Tokyo.

Bed was a bit hard but reviews warned us ahead of time. Tablet was a bit fiddly but never really needed to use it

Nothing loved it.

Location was very good easy access to stations. Breakfast set us up for the day. Very clean and beds comfortable. Plenty of toiletries replaced daily.

Room slightly small and location in a business area

Had a lovely time at Hotel 1899 Tokyo. The room, while small for European standards, was very comfortable lovely design. Bathroom was also great with all necessary ammenities. The hotel also offers its lovely green tea which we enjoyed every morning. Very much recommended.

I liked everything.

The location was great. Lots of nice places to eat around the area (Shimbashi), and well connected metro network to Ginza, Shibuya etc. The cleaning facilities were excellent and prompt. If you haven’t left the room by 11am, you’ll get a call from reception asking if you want your room cleaned (which is a very good thing). The staff are very helpful. They also arranged our luggage transfer to our next hotel in Kyoto promptly. Thank you!

The perfect place to start our Japan trip! The hotel is clean and very comfortable. Everyone was very kind and helpful and the free tea service is a lovely touch. We thought the location is great as well, calm and quiet but close to a lot of sights in Tokyo.

We picked our hotel for our last night in Tokyo as is quite closed to the airport. It turn out to be a perfect choice for us as we took a taxi and were there in less than 30 minutes. I have to say tho that the area can feel a bit corporate and for longer stays I prefer other areas. If you travelling for work tho I would totally recommend it tho. I would have loved to eat in the restaurant downstairs but there were not vegetarian options sadly!

Beautiful hotel, all the details are super well curated and taken care of. Loved our room which was on the ninth floor with an incredible view of the skyscrapers. The room was spotless and incredibly well organised, we had all we needed and more. The staff was nice and helpful, the communication before and during our stay was great.

For European standards, the mattress was quite hard. Upon request, the hotel staff immediately provided me with a mattress topper which made the bed a little bit more comfortable. The hotel is located a 10-15 minute walk from the subway and train station, which is not bad but something to keep in mind.

Trendy and cozy tea-themed hotel with very clean and modern rooms in a quiet and safe neighborhood. The bathroom is provided with a bathtub and is stocked with tea-themed amenities, which were such luxuries after walking a lot in Tokyo! The (English speaking) staff was very friendly and helpful. Good Japanese and Western breakfast buffet with the ground floor turning into a lunch café after breakfast for guests and visitors. Free tea service for guests on the 1st floor. 7/11 with ATM across the street and (view of) the Tokyo Tower within walking distance.
