Traditional Japanese surroundings and building, but inside was modern comfort. My husband can not sleep on tatami floor with futon , therefore bed was a big point to choose this hotel. Famous Kin-sen is few minutes walk distance. Welcome drink at beautiful cafe.

Location of the hotel. Quite a challenge if you have big luggage. You need to know how to get to the hotel without climbing up the stairs.

The concept of the resort. Excellent service provided.

the check in is across the town at a cafe so lugging your bags to the hotel and realizing you have to check in at a cafe so lugging them back and forth. also the pillows were very small and uncomfortable.

it was very beautiful traditional japanese style that had comfy beds and great location. they provide you with a free drink at the cafe at breakfast! and great heating system.

The staff should speak better English and it was quite hard to understand them. And they should put a correct address for this accommodation because we went to the other one. There was no bath tub.

Very good location, the best accommodation that we stayed in Japan though we paid a fair price lol. It was very aesthetic and cozy. The accommodation provided a free service of two drinks at the cafe that they are running.

Location. 1 minute walk from kin no yu & 3 minute walk from gin no yu. Room was big for Japan. Room done in all light wood made room very bright. Very modern presentation. Only 6 rooms on the property so very quiet. Not your typical hotel.

Need to climb a few flights of stairs after checking in at Cafe de Beau to get to the hotel room. This is unavoidable as the whole town is not on even terrain

Nice friendly staff. Easy check in and check out. Parked our car at the car park indicated by hotel and there's a shuttle bus waiting there to pick us up after we parked the car. Location of hotel is good, close to the attractions and just beside a geiko cafe where you get to watch geiko dances at 12pm. When we checked out at Goshobo, the hotel arranged a shuttle bus to drop us off at the car park to collect our car

The shower stall was so tiny I banged my elbows, so watch out for that. (Not an issue if you plan to shower at the onsen.)

Our room was clean and comfortable, as well as quite large. The staff was hospitable and helpful. it was a great stay. I also really enjoyed the pasty breakfast that we got to have in the cafe. It was a delicious and relaxing way to end our time in Arima.

One of the room we have likely not been able to insulate from the cold well or the heater had been overworked. Come one of the night, it was very cold even though we set the heater to 30deg.

Location right in the start of the shopping street. Though its after a fleets of stairs but there's another path that's of flat land to walk from. Room very clean and comfortable. As we had 2 rooms for 4 of us, we were provided 2 different rooms of different buildings, which wasnt far off. So we get to experience both rooms. Though not the average ryokan style stay as with most lodgings in Arima where most are halfboard, this lodge serves the purpose for me and my aged folks as it's near the shopping street and can be accessed by wheelchair though with a slope. Its a nice walk distance to the gold onsen.

Excellent Ryokan - Modern, Clean - Exceeded Expectations, Would Stay Again

Nothing, I really prioritize newer / clean spaces and this place had what I needed. It made the stay very comfortable for me as someone who has a hard time feeling at home in new locations/beds due to OCD. Slept very safe and sound.

April 2023 2 day, 1 night. Exceeded expectations! Hotel was modern tatami style, our room was very clean (I'm very picky on that), and Onsen hot spring facilities next day were amazing (heart of Japan's oldest hot spring town). So convenient they allow us to drop off luggage first at cafe while we explored before check in. The free morning drinks at the cafe were a plus and we enjoyed the street food next door(Osake manju, beef/onion croquettes, and chicken spice karage are a must try). Also enjoyed the hot spring guide, pajamas, and towels/amenities. Not only did I feel comfortable (difficult for me being OCD), felt very taken care of here! Thank you to kind ryokan hotel manager and staff, hope to come back soon!!!!!

No clear direction to get there. Google maps couldn’t tell us where it was and neither could many locals. Need to have information on the day at the cafe ( a board perhaps) to check in here for Arima Koyado.

Surprisingly spacious in the tiny town with really narrow winding streets. Had all mod cons.

It may be hard to find as the hotel doesn't really standout. But follow the instructions on arrival given by the hotel. If you are driving over, you will need to locate the Alimaya carpark which is not easy to locate. From the car park, you will have transport waiting to send you to the hotel reception. But once you get sorted out, all is great!

Location was right smack in the middle of the town. Food options just 2 mins stroll away and to one of the onsen bath house too. Staff were very helpful and even helped lugged my luggages up the steps from the reception (bakery shop) to my hotel room about 3 mins away.

It was a little complicated to get to, and also it says private parking but actually it’s the local public parking that you pay for. Not a huge issue but it was hard to figure out and get to.

It was a really nice, big room with a cute balcony space. Also, it was in a very convenient area and close to the onsen.

The hot water tap takes about 5 minutes to get hot, but since we came for the onsen, we only used the bathroom to wash our faces anyway, so it wasn't a big deal for us. It could be that we just didn't know how to turn it on properly, so best to ask the staff. (We just didn't care enough.)

Excellent service. Welcome drink at the cafe, many variety, including their original blends. (Tried their cakes too while we're at it and they were GOOD.) Breakfast had tons of variety of savory to sweat bread too, straight from their own bakery. Very friendly and helpful staff, giving us a lot of recs for places to go to. Very awesome room, located right in the middle of everything. We kept going, omg this is the best stay ever.

No complaints, everything worked well, was clean and great.

Great big room with seperate toilet, nice beds and the tatami mat platform is a welcome touch that makes the room more Japanese. Location could not be better, on a little hill behind the famous Kin no Yu.
