Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

JapanThere's literally nothing around, but if you're there for a conference (the conference center is within a walking distance) or are prepared to go to the city by train, it's not a problem.
Nice hotel onsen, very good restaurant (both for dinner and breakfast) with a good view of the sea and the city. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Walkable distance to the International conference center.

AustraliaThe fitness centre usage wasn’t included in the price! We were so excited to use it and then we’re told it was an extra 1000Yen per use! Absolutely ridiculous! It was also a little out of the way! There wasn’t much around but it was an easy walk to the train station to go into Kobe.
The restaurant had a beautiful view of the harbour! The food was absolutely delicious. The best was so comfortable. The most comfortable hotel bed I’ve ever had it was amazing!

SwitzerlandThe hotel isn't that easy to get to, being a 10 min walk from the nearest station, without a clear path easily visible.
Breakfast was good with a wide variety available. The views looking back towards shore were beautiful at night, and the sunset over the hills was worth watching from the top floor bar too. A free drink coupon was offered to us at check-in, which was nice. Room was large and spacious.

JapanThere is no where to go if you want to have a cup of coffee or drink at any time during the day. The restaurant on the 9th floor is nice and has great views, but seems to only be open during meal times.
The breakfast was ok, the dinner is better, quite tasty. The sauna is nice and open 24/7

AustraliaIt was confusing figuring out how to get from the station to the pedestrian bridge across to the hotel, so the hotel is a little further form the station than I thought but still quite convenient
The service from the staff was great, the breakfast was good - there was enough GF options to get by, the onsen was great. The room was lovely. I'm going back

AustraliaThe silly gym and pool opening hours.
Everything except the fact that the gym and pool didn’t open until 1pm. This is ridiculous! We paid to have this facility yet couldn’t use it as that’s the time of day that you are out site seeing.

United StatesI was a little bit too tall for some things, they seemed to be planned with the average local height.
It was close to where I needed to be which help save on travel. Also the breakfast was good, and everything was very clean and pleasant.

SwedenThe breakfast is OK in many ways, but dishes are put out in the early morning and start to look 'tired' by 8:30-9:00. Located quite close to Nakakoen station, but you have to walk all the way around the Toyota lot to get there.
The spa on-site is good with 2 baths (42 & 21 Deg C) and a Swedish style sauna. Nice view from the top floor.

AustraliaOur most expensive daily hotel rate over our 2 week Japan experience! (Like 2-3 times dearer!) Yes we didn't mind paying for it on special occasion, if the hotel provided that extra quality and service. (New Year celebration- but Kobe had no fireworks or major celebrations that we were made aware of.) View from roof top was good but very basic!
Great breakfast.& Dinner experience. A good location once you sorted out transport to and from...The hotel really needs to give good directions from the JR station-the change of trains & how to get to hotel from the local train stop..as initially its all very complicated. The staff in the restaurant were superb, & the food was good! We met some locals in a lunchtime restaurant who told us about the famous castle in a town 20 mins away by train...this was worth the experience. Amazing!

SingaporeThe car park is not located in the hotel. We had to park in the next building. We had to pay for the use of the gym, as it is open to the public. We drove there. But another hotel guest told us she needed to walk 15 mins from the nearest train station with her luggage.
This hotel is situated on the portside of Kobe, right next to a Learner's car driving centre. We had a great view of Kobe city from our window. Lovely day and night scenes with all the lights of the Ferris wheel and the harbour. Our executive King suite was spacious, fits our family of 4 adults comfortably.

NetherlandsEven though our room was on the 6th Floor, We were woken up in the morning by loud noises in the neighbourhood. I suspect that the noises were of the businesses and harbour work nearby, but it was annoying.
Room was spacious and equipped with comfortable chairs, and good coffee. A nice of Kobe skyline and the trainstation to the city center was close by (less then 10 minuten walking) and the train went often.

FranceBe careful, the last train for the island is around midnight, you don't want to have to walk all this way.
Really liked the hotel for a conference on the island. The breakfast is a bit pricy but also quite good. The proximity to the port liner subway makes it easy to go to the city center.
