How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

We loved staying at this hotel. Rooms are quite spacious for japanese standard, clean and quiet. Hotel is walking distance from all main attractions as well as Shin Kobe station. Staff is kind and friendly which was a super plus. Loved the reading room!

The pillow is too hard.
Everything meets my expectation. Allow me to store my luggage before check-in time, so i can move around the city. The room i booked is big, 3-single bed room and in fact it has 5 beds, can fit 5 adults.

The pillows are too hard. Not only me, also my friends found it uncomfortable. The hotel may consider changing the pillows or give customers a choice of softer pillows.
The facilities inside the room are very new and good. There is everything you need for a leisure traveller. The room size is also good by Japanese standard.

Most rooms do not have a view (in front of another building's wall) and the elevator system is quite strange (always stops on floor 2, sometimes refuses to go to floor 1, you need to flash your room card to go anywhere)
The hotel is well positioned near sannomiya, and the breakfast offers plenty of choices.

The surface of the “night stand”- the holder under reading light was sticky - it didn’t bother me much since I fixed it by covering it with a piece of tissue. There is free coffee/tea in the library. However, it is not available before 10 am for people not buying breakfast there. That means, I had to make my own coffee in my room if I want a coffee early in the morning.
It’s located in the center of everything. The hotel even offers humidifier for dry winter, though the humidifier is not that powerful.

First time self help check-in. A little difficulty facing the machine to complete the procedure. Expected counter staff to offer more help, but at that moment they were rather busy serving a few customers. Pillows too thin not good for head.
Favourable location, just a few minute walk to JR station. Quiet room but easily accessible to restaurants and shopping malls.

Hotel is located at the side lane. Difficult to find on arrival.
Location is convenient, 5mins walk to JR Sannomiya Station and about 20mins walk to Motomachi Shopping Mall and Kobe Chinatown.

Location. It's a little bit not close to the train station.
The breakfast was good. The hotel provided the coffee and different kind of teas for guests to enjoy from 10:00 am to 00:00 am at the Library Cafe where was a very comfort place to take a rest or chat with friends after one day tour.

Rooms a bit small, pillows hard had to ask for more comfortable pillow. Breakfast good. Housekeeping turned off our fridge and air con when we were out.

Our air conditioning unit made strange sounds. Luckily it still worked fine and we slept through the strange sounds.
Excellent location- just minutes from Kobe Sannomiya Station and very close to night life and shopping. We loved being able to drop our bags before check-in so we could explore the city without them. Staff was very friendly and very accommodating. The Cafe was a nice little spot for snacks and breakfast. Also, the Kinuji blow dryers they provided were the BEST I've ever used!
